Outstanding hotel. Coming from the train, hopped #1 tram to Commerce, 1 block from hotel, which is in the lovely pedestrian zone. Rooms was large, excellent bed & bedding, WC was sleek, nice to have a little fridge & bathrobes. Our "Priviledge" Room also had a Juliet balconey overlooking the walkway, lovely for a breeze yet soundproof. Common rooms have simple elegance (lobby, bar, restaurant). Didn't use the gym, but ironing room was handy! Great area for seeing sights, restaurants & shops. BTW our impressions of this hotel started out great in the first minutes because of the young lady at reception, Julie,who greeted us the afternoon of Nov 2nd. Rarely do we meet someone so flawless in every aspect. She was warm, friendly and very efficient. Provided an excellent room, clear information and made sure we were aware of all the hotel offers. After giving us our keys (without having to ask, 2) she asked if there was any other way she could help make our visit better. One has the feeling she will be succesful in any profession but she is certainly perfectly suited to hospitality. This is definitely our No #1 for Nantes on any return trip.

Firstly, there is too much choice in Nantes, so I won’t return here. We had 2 nights in Nantes, to see the sights and experience the city. This hotel was not the place to do it from. Everything was just functional. No one on staff seemed inclined to go the extra kilometre. I had booked a Privilege room, which seemed to be a slight upgrade when booking, but frankly it wasnt worth anything extra. The room was very small, and particularly in the area of the hallway, toilet and shower room, it was poorly configured. There were too many doors, light switches, etc and in all the wrong places. I am a large person and there was insufficient room for me to comfortably bend over and spit into the sink after washing my teeth. The shower has 2 heads, a manual head and a large overhead grill built into the ceiling. Switching between them requires a valve to be pulled out before turning on the tap. The problem there is that the only way to do this means you get soaked with cold water while turning it on. The toilet was similarly small. The bed was comfortable and linens were good quality. The Privilege room meant we received a very small box of biscuits left on the bed for us on arrival. The box was cardboard and not airtight meaning that the biscuits were soft and inedible. There was a strange radio-thing on the bedside table. Perhaps it was a smart-speaker/alarm radio. It was just taking up space which I needed for my own devices. But untangling it from the telephone cables just to place it on the floor was a real chore. Breakfast was adequate. The nespresso machine was for decaff coffee, but wasnt working properly on the 2nd morning. The fresh fruit selection (my breakfast preference) was only adequate. The bread and hot food was good. The staff all seemed disinterested and purely functional throughout. None smiled or wished me a “bonne journée” I will choose a different hotel next time I am overnighting in Nantes

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. I have read a lot of reviews about the difficulty in accessing this hotel. I decided to write a review mainly to reassure you that there is really no problem in arriving at the hotel and car park. You will receive / you can request directions to the hotel/ parking. The directions are straightforward. If your are coming from Brittany your enter '6 rue de L'Arche Seche ' into your GPS. When your reach this point your will meet a barrier and the hotel will give you a code to raise this and allow you to continue. Once you enter the semi-pedestrian zone, take the first left into' Rue Commandant Boulay'. then immediately right into Rue du Couedic. You will meet an intersection or crossroad called Rue D'Orleans. Cross this and continue along Rue du Couedic. About 200 metres you will see part of the Mercure hotel on your left . Take the first left in front of the restaurent 'l'Entrecote' into Rue Sainte Catherine. The main entrance of the hotel and parking are on this street. Drop your bags off at the hotel and head to the parking 30 metres nearby. I think the main reason people get lost is they turn left at Rue D'Orleans instead of going ahead. Even we nearly did this. Remember also when your leave the hotel ask for the special directions. Again do not turn into Rue D'Orleans! This hotel is excellently situated to access all the attractions. Have a good stay.

An excellent hotel situated in the Centre of Nantes. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and although I arrived several hours earlier than check in time the receptionist allowed me to check in as a room was ready. My room was spacious and clean tea,coffee and a kettle were provided which is always a bonus. The breakfast room was large and airy and the variety of food available was ample. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

A central hotel with underground parking. We paid €129 including the parking for a double room. The room was very compact but with everything you need including bathrobes. We did name it the ‘4 door’ hotel because the room, toilet, shower and bedroom doors all opened in on one another - not a great design! It is a semi pedestrian area so you will need instructions on how to navigate the bollards.
