Good location, tight for 3 beds

คะแนนจาก Tripadvisor 4.0/5

JustPeachy3 รีวิวที่ได้รับการรับรองจาก TripAdvisor

The hotel's location is adjacent to the Amsterdam Centraal train station and only a 15-minute walk to the center of Amsterdam (Dam plaza); these were among the major reasons I booked it. It is about a 30-35 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and about a 20-minut walk to the Anne Frank House. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. Despite the proximity to the trains, the hotel was quiet. The included daily buffet breakfast was good. And the overall price seemed better than a lot of other area hotels. The area felt fairly safe. You should stay vigilant for things like pickpockets near the rail station, but there was never a 'dangerous' vibe in the area. Amsterdam in general and the area around the hotel in particular is very walkable. Your biggest risk is getting run over by a bicycle. The rooms may be better in a (standard) 2-single bed configuration. We got a 3-single configuration and there was almost no floor space. We made do with pushing open suitcases under the beds when we did not need to access them. The bathroom was not large either. There was almost no shelf space in either room. We did have a view across the water to the film museum. WiFi: Using my laptop, WiFi was fine. However, on any Apple device, it was hit-or-miss. It would sometimes not connect, or if connected would drop after 5 - 10 minutes. The staff recommended restarting the device but that seemed to only temporarily fix this sometimes. Luggage storage: We arrived before our room was ready (no issue there). The hotel also had a free luggage storage room. It is accessed via a loaned key-card, which you use to access an upper floor and then use again to open the luggage room door itself. This seemed reasonably secure and when we stored the bags (around 10:30 a.m.) there was plenty of space. I just put the bags on a middle shelf at the far end from the door. However, when we returned (around 1:30 p.m.), we found the door to the luggage room was ajar. This was puzzling until we opened it - there were so many bags that it couldn't close! It took me a few minutes to remove enough luggage into the hallway to allow some sort of entry into the room. From there I managed to extract our bags. I then tried to put the other bags back into something resembling their original positions. The room is not climate controlled, so I worked up a good sweat with all the lifting in there. In retrospect, maybe this was a good thing, in terms of added security. If anyone *had* wanted to steal bags, they certainly wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to get to mine. As an alternative - the hotel does offer some luggage lockers (for ~ 4 Euros for 8 hours, or something similar) on the ground floor. These have key locks and likely won't be filled with other bags when you return, so it might be worth considering. If I returned to Amsterdam, I might shop around to see what else was available. However, if you don't mind the room size, this is a decent place to stay and certainly has some advantages.

Located beside the Central station the hotel offers basic amenities in simple straightforward rooms. Consisting of two buildings, one that faces the city & the other facing the canal, the second building sits atop the train tracks leading into the station. The check in was quick simple & with no fuss. The rooms while basic, are ok for one or two night stays, but lack enough closet space or hooks. The bedding & towels are also basic. There were no issues with sound & we stayed in the part above the tracks.

Dear Guest, Thanks for your review about our hotel. We are delighted that you found our location convenient and that the check-in process was efficient and hassle-free. Ensuring a seamless arrival is one of our top priorities, and it's wonderful to hear we achieved this for you. However, we note your comments regarding the closet space and appreciate your candid feedback. Our rooms are designed to maximize space while providing all necessary comforts, including a comfy bed, desk, and safety deposit box. For future stays, please feel free to inquire about our larger room options which may offer more storage and suit your needs better. Nonetheless, we are pleased that you enjoyed a peaceful stay, undisturbed by the sounds from the nearby train tracks. Our double-glazed windows and other noise reduction measures are in place to ensure that every guest can experience a tranquil environment. We are hoping to welcome you back in the future. All the best. Natasa Duricic, Operations Manager

Literally one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at!!!

I travel a lot for work and have stayed in good and bad hotels. Therefore, I don't expect too much, just a good sleep, hot shower and reliable internet...this hotel offered none of these. After waiting a good 20 minutes to check in, which seemed to be caused by 5 staff chatting amongst themselves, rather than attending to the 6 people in the queue. I paid and was directed to my single room, where I found bunkbeds and my double bed. The stains on the mattresses on the bunkbeds immediately made me worried, as did the shaking of the room, as the train passed by directly outside my window. Now, I did realise that the hotel was next to the train station, but I assumed that there would be sound reducing windows and basically something to reduce the noise to the hotel guest...what a stupid assumption to make! Every 10 minutes, the room visibly shook as trains set off, till 2am. Now, the room itself was sparce, to the point it didn't have a bin. The room is tired and without the ability to open the curtain without making friends with the train passengers, the lack of natural light and dependency on low watt bulbs, meant the room was despressing. Fortunately, I could get on with some work...actually no I couldn't, as the internet dropped literally every 3-4 minutes, till I eventually gave up and worked from the local pub, who's internet seemed much more reliable. Staff seemed to be very young and inexperienced, which isn't an issue till you ask them a question...such as what is the time and they respond with wide eyes, open mouths and silence. When checking out, I had similar issues, with 4 staff being unable to do more than leave the desk, walk to the back room and come back again. Eventually a more senior member of the team told me she could help and then when she asked me about my stay and I told her, she did the same as her colleagues. I mean, don't ask such questions if you cannot at least provide an answer! I did have breakfast and if you get the chance to eat at this place...don't! The chicken sausages were terrible, the eggs were powdered and the choice of food was poor. Even the orange was watered down to the point it was water and pulp...no orange taste. Being very serious now, I was woken in the early hours by noises from outside my room. It sounded like someone trying to open the guest windows. I pulled open my curtain and two men ran into the darkness at the station...so anyone travelling, please be careful, especially women on their own. Based on my experience, not only will I not stay at Ibis Amsterdam Centre again, I will not stay with any Ibis hotel anywhere. If you choose to stay here, you are a glutton for punishment.

Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. Understanding your concerns regarding the room amenities, we are currently reviewing our in-room features to provide our guests with a comfortable and convenient stay. Our rooms are indeed designed to maximize space and functionality, and we apologize if this aspect did not align with your preferences. Regarding the noise levels, while we have double-glazed windows to minimize the sound from outside, we understand that the proximity to the train station can occasionally be a disturbance. For future visits, we can offer rooms on higher floors or those facing the river, which are known for their quieter environment. We also acknowledge your experience with the internet service. Our guests typically enjoy free high-speed WiFi, and we regret to hear about the interruptions you faced. This matter will be addressed with our service provider to ensure consistent connectivity. We take note of your comments on our staff's professionalism and will emphasize the importance of attentive and timely service in our ongoing staff training. Your remarks on the breakfast offerings are concerning, as we strive to provide a variety of fresh and appetizing options. We will revisit our breakfast menu with our culinary team to ensure quality and taste. Finally, the safety of our guests is paramount. We have security measures in place, including CCTV and secure keycard-operated doors. Your report of a security concern is taken very seriously, and we will review our protocols to reinforce our vigilance. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future. Worst service I ever got

Worst service I ever got. I booked 3 nights with 2 months in advance and I prepaid It. Important detail is that I am Gold member of ALL Program. I AM in the Room 972 (I say I AM because I AM here this momento) Room stinks cigarrette. I do not smoke. Room AC is not working. I went to the lobby to complain about. The attendent days somebody would come within 15 minutes. Over an hour, nobody came. Guests should be at least treated. I AM not saying better treated as I consider It as no treatment. Very good, Ibis Centre...... Congrats.

Had all necessary anemities

Me and my 3 friends stayed in a family room for our 3 day trip. The room was very nice and had all the necessary facilities. The location us also very good as it is right next to Amsterdam Centraal and there is a tram stop outside the station. Most of the attractions are walkable from the hotel. The lobby downstairs also has a small shop with anemities however it is a bit overpriced. My friends also had issues with the WiFi connection (although mine was fine but they have iPhone and I use Android). Our room also looked out onto the train tracks of Amsterdam Centraal which was a little strange but we just kept the curtain closed the whole time so it was really a problem. The staff were also friendly.

Dear Charlotte, We would like to thank you for this review about your recent experience in our hotel. We are pleased that you found our family room well-equipped with all the comforts for your group's stay, and that our staff's friendliness contributed positively to your experience. However, we apologize for the inconvenience you faced with the WiFi connectivity and the perception of our shop's pricing. We strive to offer competitive prices and reliable internet service, and your feedback helps us focus on these areas for improvement. Nonetheless, we are delighted to hear that our prime location near Amsterdam Centraal and various tram connections served you well, making the city's attractions easily accessible. It's fantastic that this convenience added value to your trip. The entire team really hope we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Kindest regards, Natasa Duricic, Operations Manager
