Well situated

This Mercure is well situated in Rennes, close to the train station. The staff is very nice and the rooms are well appointed. The rooms are typical for Mercure but, contrary to other Mercure I have stayed at, you thankfully do not hear your neighbours! Breakfast is varied and good. No restaurant but you can go to La Taverne around the corner.

I stayed here for 4 nights while here for work. I found the hotel to be quiet and comfortable with adequate air conditioning and good WiFi. Everything worked and was clean and maintained, although the rooms were clearly old and rather soulless. Breakfast was great in places (freshly squeezed orange juice, leaf tea!) and not so good in others (cooked breakfast was well below average), but if you are happy with continental style food then you will be happy. The staff I spoke to were all friendly and helpful too. Finally, the location is excellent, with so many places just a short walk away

We stayed as a group of friends weekend of 12th Aug. Fairly warm summers weekend. To set the tone. The hotel is situated in a fairly rough part of the town, which has some lovely parts. Quite a few drug addicts near the hotel begging, smell of urine and drunkenness. The hotel it’s self is run down and in desperate need of a refurb. Our room was clean and the beds however were comfortable. The aircon was however pathetic, basically didn’t work. Our whole group had two nights of awful sleep, having to get up to have a cold showers just to try and be cool enough to sleep. We opted for the breakfast which was ok. Overall summary, if you want to go to Renne on the cheap this is perfect but you will get what you pay for.

Hotel is located near Rennes Train Station. The first impression brought me back to East Berlin in the early 90's. Dirty and lonely neighbourhood. Room was quite small, with tiny window. Carpet in the corridors to the rooms is full of stains. Not very appetizing. Staff members were friendly, but sometimes a bit lost. We asked for some ice and the ice was given to us in a paper bag....

Great city centre location, close to all needs. Free overnight parking, helpful staff. Getting a bit old now but very well maintained. Would stay again anytime. Makeshift amusement park at the bus a Nd train station was fun for the family
