Stayed 5 nights. Excellent location a few minutes- walking distance to Grand Place. You could even walk to the EU Parliament. The Bruxelles Central train station is a few steps away- great for day trips to Bruges, Antwerp, Gent etc No shortage of places to eat and a few groceries stores nearby- even a laundromat if you need one (I did). Room and bathroom were spacious, Very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and one night I wanted a dinner plate and a wine glass as I just felt like dining in with a salad from the supermarket. They were happy to provide what I needed. I.didnt hear any street noise if the window is closed or sounds from other rooms. Breakfast ran from 6;30 to 10am and lots to choose from.No issues. If you're looking for something right in the heart of tourist area this is the place. I highly recommend it

We arrived on EuroStar in Brussels Midi and did not have a good impression of Brussels at first (note to self, next time take the metro or over ground train (operator IC) to Brussels Central which is literally five minutes walk down the slight hill to the Novotel hotel. We finally found the hotel literally 200 yards from the main square (Grote Markt). What a lovely welcome when we got to reception. The receptionists were just lovely, so friendly and welcoming. Embarrassingly their English was just so good. The restaurant employees were very welcoming too and they paid the appropriate attention when required, they too were great. The breakfast chef also came out periodically and topped food up which was good to see. Housekeeping was great and one morning the room service assistant had actually realised we had gone to breakfast and made our room up while we away at breakfast. Location - this hotel couldn't be better placed. Grand Square literally 200 yards away, Grand Central station five minutes walk (if that) up a slight hill. Summary - I would stay at the Novotel (off Grand Place) on a future visit without hesitation. A really well appointed and well placed hotel with really lovely friendly staff. Coming from the trade we appreciate the total effort the staff put in and thank them very much for making our stay so welcoming.

We stayed on the top floor of this hotel in a room with a beautiful view of the plaza below. Great views of the city. There are many wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as shopping. We spent a day walking around the city from the hotel and found it was a good central location for everything. The breakfast at the hotel was exceptional and the staff was warm and helpful. Our room was a family room with a regular bed, sofa bed, and a pull out bed. The bathroom was spacious. We look forward to staying here on our next trip.

Adequate Hotel but Could be Better

Hotel is in in a good location but personally I hated it. Close to the Grand Palace and Brussels Central Rail Station. I suppose I was expecting other attractions like the Royal Museum of Fine Arts to be closer but it is hard to tell on maps where exactly things are. A little bit too touristy for me. Not very calming for me. I wasn’t too pleased about hotel staff because I arrived at the hotel early and was told to wait to check in. I was fine by that but around noon guests were checking in but no one at the reception came over to where I was and asked if I wanted to check in. In a different review of a guest around the time I visited seemed to think that service was lacking and I had to agree. I was surprised though that a staff member remembered my name when I was returning to the hotel. It seemed like he was the only one paying attention and trying to be helpful. He also tried to help me with a mild issue about the air conditioning. So great job on his part but everyone was okay. Food was horrifying for breakfast. As an American going to Europe nothing ever tastes right but this was exceptionally awful. Flies were flying around hovering around like vultures. I don’t ever recall this happening at other hotels where I had breakfast. Definitely not worth the the 23 Euros I paid. Unfortunately I was at the hotel’s mercy regarding breakfast because Europeans have horrible working hours. In American if Starbucks, McDonalds, and other restaurants serving breakfast by 6 AM daily the restaurant owners would be considered stupid as heck. So nearby restaurants/cafes opening at 8 AM is not very nice but I suppose it’s an American thing. Not pleased about the furniture in the sitting area at the hotel. At a 4 star hotel I would expect the furniture to be well kept but the upholstery was ripped at places and I can see the cotton or cushions coming out. I don’t expect perfect but it felt like the furniture belong at a 2 star hotel. The hotel was clean enough and I got a bigger room then I expected. I would give the hotel 3.5 stars if I could because it was average. Definitely could be better but could be worse.

Hotel management need to step up.

Great location and nice room. But something wrong at this hotel with the food/ service. Evening visit to the bar was largely empty, one member of staff. Very short menu which did not sound great and as the restaurant area was empty, huge and cold decided to go out. At breakfast again no staff, huge empty cold breakfast area. Hot food looked awful, bacon mostly uncooked, everything looked a little messy. Staff strolling in, grabbing a coffee, walking out, the one person in the kitchen walking round in gym wear. Something is not right with the way it is being run and it is going to lose customers. Maybe it’s post Covid lack of staff but I won’t be back for a while until it is running back to normal. Pity as location is excellent!
