Great location - located about 10 minute walk from the city centre (Fossgate). Picked the hotel for the “spa” facility… slightly disappointing as this is only a pool and sauna that can only be booked for 30 minute slots. Thought this would have offered more (ie spa treatments and jacuzzi). Upgraded the room to executive and decided to surprise the wife with added rose petals. The room was spacious, modern and clean, overlooking the river. Only downside was the lacked a mirror inside the bedroom for getting ready. A plus note was the bed was comfy. Breakfast was an additional £15, which was reasonable given the great selection on offer. Parking was £17 per night - again reasonable compared to other city centre carparks. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying here again in the future.

I attended the hotel with a delegation of senior representatives from a middle eastern country for training purposes. All the hotel staff, especially Sarah and Federica from the hotel's event management team could not have been more helpful over the 5 days of our stay. The service was exemplary, particularly as the training was delivered at the hotel during the run up to Xmas. The work behind the scenes to make the delegates as comfortable as possible is truly appreciated & did much to ensure a successful training delivery

Been visiting every december the passed 9!years, always get looked after by the staff and kai the manager, room always spotless, we book the river suite its ❤️ The breakfast and room service food is always spotless on, always love to see karl, lovely friendly man, sash who we met for the first time was really nice too, big shout out to the lovely alex who decorated our room, what a great job thanks so much alex 👌🫶🏻 Rebooked for next december we return each year because you cant fault the staff or hotel, thanks kai once again for another fab stay 👍 See you’s all next December 🎅🏻🎄❤️ Lisa and stephen foster xxx. Superb food, great location, sublime room

Superb room, no executive rooms left so got upgraded to a junior suite which was just divine, easy to find hotel whilst driving, restaurant food was sublime and they catered for my husbands gluten intolerance by making him two separate meals, one at dinner and one at breakfast. Couldn’t be nicer and more welcoming staff.

Stayed here for one night for the first time. It’s a nice hotel , very modern and convenient for the city which is just a 10 minute walk (if that) away. Location is good. The lobby area is really nice and inviting with comfy seats, nice bar and welcoming atmosphere we enjoyed having a drink in. The receptionists were not really the friendliest or helpful - seemed a bit confused. I asked for a late check out that was agree on the evening of the stay and the following day had the cleaner knocking on the door , the card stopped working so was locked out the room and lift after I used the pool , oh and when i told them said they had no record of the late check out! . Happy hour was good at the bar decent pricing. Pool was very small but pleasant I booked a swim in the morning and was the only one there and the sauna too. Room was nice , same decor as all Novotel very modern and a comfy bed and pillows. I was annoyed at the noise in the corridor in the morning the cleaners were shouting , laughing , banging things and I got the distinct impression it was to get me out of the room despite my request as a silver member for the late check out . In summary nice hotel but not the best service!
