The room was fine as was the bathroom. What let this down was the window which could open much and there's no balcony. The room was quite dark. There is no view apart from ugly buildings. The location is a bit out of the centre but only a 10 minute walk to San Sebastian metro which serves 2 metro lines and getting to the cenrre of Lisbon is quick. There's a cafe, Starbucks and Lidl next to that metro. The bar and restaurant are nothing special. The hotel has a tiny gym and small outdoor swimming pool. I guess it gets s 4 star because of that. It is currently bring refurbished so can be noisy during the day time but you'll be out then - though they do start early. Under the airport flight path too.

I stayed here as part of a Globus tour. The tour was wonderful but this was my least favorite hotel on the trip. Location is not very good and the hotel got quite hot one day and they will not turn on the AC. Overall it was clean and the food was pretty decent.

We were debating between the Holiday Inn Express and the Novotel, as we only needed a room for a few hours overnight. Having stayed at other Holiday Inn Express locations, I will say that these rooms were much more spacious, including the bathroom. The latter was actually very nice and featured a rain shower and detachable hand held shower, bidet and ample counter space. While the sofabed was not overly comfortable, the main bed certainly was. Come to think of it, it may have been one of the most comfortable mattresses i’ve ever slept on! The staff were very friendly but ultimately I ranked the property as average, due to poor sleep quality. This was due to the lack of AC. The room was incredibly hot and stuffy. You could open a window but then the traffic noise was just too intense. Wish more hotels gave customers the choice of how hot or cold your room should be.

Old and ran down, incredibly noisy, no a/c, staff is not effective in solving problems. Want to sleep during the day? forget it. Broken lifts and constant works ensure a constant loud drill noise and hammering over your head. The old stained carpets under your feet look and feel terrible. No A/C makes your room feel like a sauna. No chance to work or nap during the day - it's impossible. My desk lamp was not working so I've asked reception to fix it or switch rooms. None was possible. This "technical specialist" that was supposed to come over never showed up. It's not the most expensive hotel but it's not that cheap either to provide such a poor experience. I won't stay again, that is for sure.

I stayed at the Novotel Lisboa for two nights as part of a group tour and found it to be a disappointing hotel experience. While the staff was helpful, and the breakfast was tasty, the location was really inconvenient for touring Lisbon. It was quite a long walk to anyplace that a tourist would want to be. The room itself was a bit rundown and excessively hot. I was told that the air conditioning hadn’t been turned on and that I should open a window. Easier said than done, since the opening mechanism was broken and the entire window was fogged over. It should also be noted that there was a good deal of construction noise during the day. All in all, this is not a hotel that I’d recommend.
