Good Hotel with great breakfast

Great Hotel with nice staff, very confortable beds and fantastic breakfast. The metro is about 5 minutes away. There were some renovations when we were there.

Old property you could do better elsewhere

The property has seen its better days. Despite evidence of recent renovation, the reception area feels strangely similar to an old hospital reception, possibly because of the linoleum tiles. The Aircon doesn't really work as an Aircon, but more like an air-recirculator. Near as I can tell the room temperature feels similar to outside air regardless of how you tweak the setting. It is fine mostly unless you visit during hotter months. You can't even open the window, so no help there. The fridge works just as well as the aircon does, which is pretty much not at all. The room decor is definitely new, but it does nothing to help with the mushy smell of an old room. Overall, you are probably better off elsewhere.

I stayed here twice - within the last couple of weeks. Pros: great staff Phenomenal breakfast!!! Clean rooms Within walking distance of the subway Small supermarket nearby On-site parking Cons: during my 1st visit, absolutely worst bed ever - I ended up sleeping in the couch as the bed caused lower back pain that got worse every day. It’s the only reason I gave it only 3 stars. Not super central to the city proper

The hotel is spacious. It’s near the airport and bus and train stations. It is not close to the main strip. It is going through renovations. It has a pool and they provide towels for the pool. They have activities throughout the day for the kids. There is a restaurant on sight. The staff are friendly.

I stayed at Novotel Lisboa for a few nights and found the location excellent for both business and leisure. It’s only a short drive from Lisbon airport, in a safe neighborhood on a main avenue right next to a police station. Despite being under flight paths, there’s no aircraft noise inside the rooms or common areas. The hotel is about 2–3 km from the city center, and you can walk there through a beautiful park with a dedicated pedestrian path and cycling lane, offering stunning panoramic views over Lisbon. Rooms are stylish with pleasant lighting, but space is tight for four people. The coffee/tea setup is basic (kettle with instant coffee sachets), which feels below Novotel’s usual standard. Some facilities fell short during my stay: the gym was closed for renovations (though occasionally occupied, strangely enough) and the pool was very busy during school holidays. On the plus side, the hotel offers charming kids’ activities such as face painting, run by genuinely friendly staff—very helpful if you need to work while traveling with children. Breakfast is good but often crowded. The staff are polite but the seating process feels mechanical, almost like a Tetris game to fit guests in as soon as a table frees up. In-room breakfast is available, but you may have to collect it yourself from the buffet area, as the door-hanger request system isn’t always checked. Parking is charged at €12 per 24h and often full. If you take your car out, you may lose your spot. I recommend parking just in front of the hotel using the EMEL Park app—it’s often easier and more reliable. The reception team was warm and welcoming, but lobby furniture is stained and dated, creating a less-than-ideal first impression for a Novotel. Overall: a safe, well-located hotel with genuinely nice staff, but with room for improvement in facilities, parking management, and a few service details.
