Very nice hotel, unfortunately with a bad location

I absolutely loved the hotel and have nothing negative to say about it. The only thing I didn’t like was the hotel’s location, which is far from the center of Lisbon. There’s nothing around the hotel, just other hotels and residential buildings. Even walking to the nearest grocery store takes about 12 minutes, and I didn’t find many restaurants nearby, so I had to walk quite a bit for lunch and dinner. If you want to be in the center of Lisbon with walkable access to all major sights, this hotel is not for you! Keep that in mind! Otherwise, the hotel is great! It’s updated, modern, and spotlessly clean. The front desk staff are nice, friendly, and professional. My check-in was very fast and easy. I had pre-arrival requests for a room on a high floor with a nice city view, and they kept that room for me. I also got 2 extra hours for a late check-out at no charge. I stayed at the hotel for only a few days, so I didn’t use the housekeeping service, but when I called the front desk to ask for fresh towels, the housekeeper brought them right away. My Superior Single Room with a queen-size bed looked exactly like the photos on the official hotel website. The room was very spacious, nicely designed, and perfectly clean. All the furniture was in perfect condition. I felt super comfortable in that room! I also need to mention that the room was quite soundproof - I barely heard any noise from the hallway. The Queen Bed was super comfortable. I loved having a sofa, which was soft and comfy as well. If I had to mention anything negative, it would be the closet size, which could be bigger. The closet in my room didn’t have enough space to fit all the clothes I had. I appreciated the electric plugs in the room - they were all over. I loved the bathroom design, and all the bathroom amenities were of the highest quality and worked perfectly, including the great shower water pressure and a new, strong, modern hair dryer. The Wi-Fi was very fast. I paid €139 per night, which feels somewhat reasonable given the hotel’s high quality. However, to be honest, it still feels overpriced, especially considering the inconvenient location far from the city center. I go to Lisbon every year and am familiar with hotel prices around town, so based on my experience, the rate I paid should be at least half of what I actually paid. I wanted to extend my stay by 2 extra nights, but the hotel was fully booked, so I had to move to another one. In general, it was hard to find a hotel in the city center for my extra dates, so I believe a big event was going on that week, which could explain the high hotel rates. To sum up, I absolutely recommend this hotel! Just be aware of the location and avoid it if you want to be in the heart of Lisbon.

Stuffy hot extremely loud area

The hotel is right next to a very busy main road and the planes fly right over the hotel. It’s VERY loud. Which means you cannot have your windows open. The air con isn’t very good so it’s uncomfortable. I wouldn’t stay here again. Staff friendly! And food nice 👍🏻

It was the most HORRIBLE experience I ever had. Noisy. Dirty. Non professional service. There was a renovation in a hotel, so they started works at 8 am each day… Hammering and drilling….. each day. 7 days in a row. At 8:00 am. The hotel staff was non professional. After my first complaint they did nothing and were laughing. I am not sure that this is ok. Administration promised to get in touch with me, but they did nothing. Just ignoring. Please AVOID STAYING in this hotel

EXTREMELY Noisy

The room itself is pretty worn but acceptable. What isn't acceptable is the constant wall shaking jackhammering ALL day. They did not inform while booking and this room should not have been rented, especially for full price. My two young kids were unable to nap due to the noise.

The room we were assigned did not reflect what was booked directly online in terms of quality or cleanliness, and the room/floor was severely affected by dramatically loud renovation noise such that it should not even be in use. Staff were clearly practiced at shrugging off these concerns (one gent could barely get through his script without laughing) and it took demanding to see a manager to rectify and move to a room that reflected the price we pre-paid. Conversation with the manager revealed they are overbooking and using a floor that was to be renovated 6 years earlier - obviously so. Our new room was modern and fairly confortable however pillows were terrible and air conditioning wasn’t sufficient to get down to room temperature which affected our sleeping. Light switches were overly complicated. It’s like “corporate” designed a room and tested nothing for practicality. The lobby and common areas look nice but the hotel is like a pig in a dress. It may look nice from afar but it’s still just a pig in a dress. I’ve stayed in Novotels of varying qualities a number of times in other countries with no issues but I will look elsewhere after this experience. I would not recommend this hotel to any travellers seeking an uncomplicated 4 star. It’s just not a 4-star and shows utter contempt for guests in their service. Photos show what we booked (blue wall), what we got (dirty and broken), and what we were moved to (comfortable but poor functionality).
