I have stayed at this hotel repeatedly for around three and a half years. Staff would refer to me as a veteran guest. I return out of convenience due to the location near my office and for loyalty points I use when travelling to other locations, not because the experience remains strong, if there was another Accor hotel close by I’d be there! Over the past year, standards dropped fast. My most recent stay confirmed this decline. I heard the hotel had been taken over and did hope that meant the new owners would improve things, not make them worse. Breakfast used to feel like a benefit of loyalty status. In the members area you were offered proper coffee service and freshly made options like omelettes etc. Now service feels inconsistent. Food quality sits at a poor level, items disappeared. What remains looks unappealing. Bacon appears grey, sausages cheap etc. Hot food is often lukewarm, even when you arrive at opening time. Yogurt options disappeared entirely, cereal is either cornflakes or chocolate cereal, seems a “that’ll do” approach. Staff engagement at breakfast feels low. One senior team member sets a poor example through visible indifference. Rooms show similar decline. Mattresses feel uncomfortable, like they’ve never been turned/flipped so the one side of the bed has a dip. Housekeeping misses basics. Towels go unreplaced. Minibar items not fully replenished. Air conditioning delivers little effect. The rooms overall look worn and neglected. Staff attitude varies sharply. A few long serving team members stand out. They greet you warmly. They remember you. They make time. They make you feel valued. Sadly, others appear disengaged. Front desk service varies by shift. The reception area looks polished. This creates expectations the rest of the hotel fails to meet. Presentation masks deeper issues. Management should value not just loyal returning guests more, actually value all guests. Focus on food quality. Invest in staff training, especially at senior level. Long term customers notice decline faster than anyone else.
