Do not book meals in advance Use the Campanile restaurant next door

Having stayed at this hotel very many times in the past, we booked rooms on the internet and added evening meals in advance for three nights. You receive a voucher on arrival stating starter and main or main and dessert courses maty be selected, plus a free soft drink, and you expect that the choice will be limited to a price range. Night 1 asked the waiter what starter and main we could choose (we didnt want a dessert) and he said to select a starter and dessert from the house menu which is for all three courses and a soft drink. When settling the bill we were asked to pay for the full three course menu even though we hadnt had a dessert and made clear that we did not want a dessert on ordering.When challenged the cashier said they were the rules and the voucher was wrong. The difference in price between what we had paid in advance and two three course meals was only two euros but on principle we flatly refused to pay. Left feeling very annoyed, dreadful experience. Night 2 we went for the meal and asked the waitress what starter and main we could choose with our voucher that stated clearly, starter and main or main and dessert. She told us that a starter and main were not possible and that we could only have main and dessert. I asked her to check and she returned to advise that this was the case. We left the restaurant and went to the hotel reception and asked for a refund of the remaining two nights measl so we could go the Campanile hotel restaurant next door and have a stress and hassle free meal. The receptionist became very agitated and confirmed that we must either have a main and dessert or wait to see the manager the following morning and request a refund. A long queue of new arrivals started to build up behind us, all listening to a crazy situation where the receptionist was trying to deny what the voucher states and refuse a refund. I told him that we would not move until he phoned the manager and we receive a refund. He eventually did this. We went next door to the Campanile, greeted by the manager, excellent menus superb service, no hassle, no stress! We went again on night 3. Interesting to note that we recognised a number of IBIS guests using the Campanile restaurant. Our three day stay in beautiful Senlis was severly affected by the Ibis who I am certain have got their wires crossed between the internet nbooking process and the restaurant menu. Be warned!

The team are really working hard to ensure the safety of guests. Meals are prepared to order and you collect from reception. Staff all have protective masks and gloves. The maintain their normal spirit of welcoming you to the hotel which is incredibly well located just off the motorway in the beautiful town of Senlis. Well worth a walk into the town if you have the time. We have stayed many times unusually we had a problem with the room which has been resolved to our satisfaction.

The hotel was everything we expected in these unprecedented times. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. In spite of the restrictions we had a lovely evening meal (which we had to eat in our room) also the same with the breakfast. A+++++++

The "New Normal" is forcing hotels to reduce risks. I am assuming that breakfast buffet is one of the main points to address, however, in my previous experiences with IBIS brand, I considered the price of the breakfast fair. Today in this "new normal" I experienced a low quality, poor choice breakfast that I consider very expensive, I recommend you to review either the price or the overall selection for breakfast.

Modern, clean rooms. Outside the town but easy access to CDG airport. Typical Ibis standard - small rooms but quite well equipped. Almost paid twice for the room as the staff didn't check whether my card had already been debited.
