Great base to stay

We were attending a football tournament in Oisterwijk and this was our base for two nights. There were 15 adults and 15 kids, check in was really easy and quick and our rooms were comfy. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and made sure we were all looked after. The kids had a great time and felt very relaxed around the hotel. The adults were able to relax in the bar at night and staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and a great waffle machine that the kids loved. There is a bus stop nearby which took us into town, is was approx 10 minute journey. We also walked to the Willem II stadium which is easy to find and about 15 minutes away.

I stayed at this hotel for a total of 8 nights in August 2023, since I needed to be in Tilburg for work reasons. If you have previously stayed in an ibis hotel, the ibis Tilburg will likely be what you expect: decent, quite basic but comfortable. While ibis Tilburg is located on the outskirts of the city, the hotel is well connected to downtown Tilburg by public transport. For the last few nights of my stay, I stayed in a different room than the previous nights. Both rooms were comfortable and quite roomy, and both had a nice bed and a television with a wide range of channels. Since this is an ibis hotel, the rooms do not have a fridge, so that is something to take into account. Moreover, there is no safe in the room. The bathrooms are adequate, but on the small side, which means that showering almost always leads to a substantial part of the bathroom floor getting wet. As for the restaurant, the hotel offers a satisfactory breakfast. I only had dinner in the hotel restaurant once, and while the service was not particularly quick, I did enjoy the food. In conclusion, ibis Tilburg offers what everything you need for a comfortable stay. Keeping in mind that this is an ibis hotel, ibis Tilburg does what it needs to do very well.

This is the first time we've stayed here as usually we stay central in The Mercure. I have to say we really enjoyed staying here, the room was nice and even though its in an industrial area it was still pretty surroundings with lots of trees. It was easy to get to the centre of Tilburg on the bus but what impressed us most of all were the staff. Each and every member of staff that we met over the 4 days were lovely!! Very friendly, helpful and cheerful...I hope when the manager reads this he/she realises what a great team they have there! Thankyou for a lovely, comfortable stay!

Not pleasant

We have previously stayed at the Ibis Tilburg and our stays have been good. This particular incident is very disappointing. My husband & I are traveling from Norway to Portugal and have planned our route & hotels. We chose the Ibis brand due to it being cost effective, clean, well staffed & pet friendly. We are traveling 9 days all Ibis hotels. Upon going over our Itineraries, I noticed that one of the dates were wrong. I’m sure it was something as simple as a fat finger but I immediately made contact with the hotel. Here is where the story gets interesting. I spoke with a young girl via email. She informed me that because I bought it online and it was paid that there was nothing that we can do. I did not buy a “flex” room?. In my defense, I did go back and look and it was quite confusing as to flex or non flex. I’ve never bought a flex. I’ve never had a problem in any hotel. I travel a lot. Now mind you all I’m asking for is to change the date to June 25 from June 26. I don’t want a refund & I’m willing to pay extra and we went back-and-forth several times each time I asked who is the property manager no response. Finally when I informed them that I am going to talk to corporate and write a review, I start getting emails from the front of the house property manager. He informed me that it’s not “fair” If he was to help us, but if I wanted to sell my room to someone and change the name that they would do that well that’s not what I’m looking for. The email exchange was absurd and repetitive. I have since found out that the Ibis is a franchise. So each Ibis has different rules and regulations. Well I have since booked with another Ibis hotel and I am very pleased. No, I’m not looking for anything for free but I think if you are in the hospitality business that you should provide hospitality. The tone of the emails and just the uncooperative attitude has soured me on this brand. I feel as they could have made this situation which was a mistake and there would be no financial consequence to the hotel that they could’ve actually helped us. This particular franchise in Tilburg is unwilling to break the rules, (he also told me it didn’t matter if there was illness or a fat finger, rules are rules) and everything to them was black & white. I live in the gray & sometime you have to help your guests, again there would be no financial loss to them. They did offer that I could buy another room, and of course they would keep my money from the wrong date, I chose to find a new hotel, and I highly would never recommend this facility for any travel to anyone. DO better Tilburg

If not ticked then we reserve the room and some time before we fix the room up, so then we count on you to come to the hotel. We sent a confirmation mail to remind and check all information. Other guests can be sent away with the message that we do not have any rooms available due to the reservation. Good enough for a two night work stay. Clean and staff friendly and helpful. Rooms quiet even though in busy area and comfortable amenities for the short stay. Food good both evening and good selection at breakfast buffet. Easy to find and park.
