Overall a nice hotel

Overall the Pullman Dakar Teranga is a very nice hotel oriented to the business traveler. The location is very good. There is even a patisserie just across the street that makes amazing pastries. The rooms are good size and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit small but the layout is adequate. Unlike at many hotels, the rooms are serviced daily which is very nice. The pools, especially the beach club pool, are a delightful way to relax and cool off. The beach area is also very nice. The restaurant and bar are quite large and the buffet extensive. All of the food we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. We especially enjoyed the fish skewers at the pool. There were a few hiccups mostly due to language barriers. For instance, we asked reception for a bucket of ice to be sent up to the room and were handed new key cards instead. Had there been an ice bucket in the room or if we’d known where the ice machine was we would have gotten it ourselves. The service especially in the restaurants was very slow. Our original flight was canceled at the last minute. Even though we had a non-refundable room we notified the hotel immediately that our arrival would be delayed by one day. We did not expect a refund for the one night, though that would have been very nice. But, it would have been greatly appreciated to receive some form of accommodation from the hotel even if it was a complementary cocktail. It is the seemingly small gestures that can mean so much.
