Everything was just great. My room was maybe a small one, but perfectly equipped, full of amenities for free (soft drinks, expresso maker, bathrobe, slippers), large TV set...and also very quiet. Excellent location if you want to visit Lyon. Staff friendly and available at all times. Great experience!

This is an old hotel so not as fancy as the newer ones. However it comes with an old fashioned hospitality which I really enjoy. Very helpful front staff. Good location. Nice rooms. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the mattresses could do a replacement. I really like this hotel.

When you ask 450+ per night, what you sell it has to be great, period. in contrary at Sofitel Lyon what you'll get is a very small room, old, a tiny bathroom and so on like the rest of the hotel. Remove the Sofitel brand from the entrance and what you could get from your guests is nothing more than 130-150€. And this is a shame because you are far from a minimal value for money principle. The only positive note is the breakfast at the 8th floor where you can perceive the Sofitel spirit.

Hello travalers! If you are considering the SOFITEL for your next stay in Lyon, you will not regret it. .all though the rooms need an update, the rooms are rather confortable, the beds are great, the hotel has great spots for drinks and food, the location is quite good and the amenities are good too. To top it all, the staff is fantastic! Friendly, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable! So go on and book! I would like to thank Maritza, Lidia, Charlotte at reception, Sebastien and Valentin at concierge, Victor at the bar, the lovely cleaning lady who’s name i did not catch and all other staff members that made my stay a great one. Thank you all and keep well. =)

Stayed at the Sofitel for 5 nights in September in a river-view room. Room was fine - good size and a massive, very comfortable bed. My only criticism would be that the room was a little faded and could do with some work to improve this. There is plenty of wooden furniture and this is now showing its age - lots of marks, scratches and obvious repairs. Whilst this doesn't detract from the quality of the stay, it does make you think as to what the room could be like if a bit of money was spent on the fittings! Another small gripe was the lack of sockets in the room - only two sockets at the desk - there was nothing by the beds to charge phones overnight etc. Again, with a bit of work, the room could be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. One of the saving graces is the fantastic customer service which is absolutely 5*. From the minute we walked into reception we were made to feel extremely special and that we were valued by the hotel - which is something you definitely expect from a hotel of this standard. Whilst we didn't eat in the hotel, we did use room service and we did go to the Bar Melhor - again, service fantastic and couldn't be faulted. Would I stay again - definitely. Despite the faded rooms, the service was excellent and you certainly knew that you were staying in a quality establishment.
