I am surprised this is a Sofitel property having stayed at the Sydney Darling Harbour, Bangkok Sukhumvit in Thailand and the Popodoli Venezia before it became an M Gallery in Italy. I'll start with the positives: Next to a mall with a Woolies supermarket and lots of surrounding restaurants. Right by Kurrawa Beach. That's it. Negatives: Reception is like an old sterile commercial office. Very cold and unwelcoming. Three and four star properties have nicer lounge areas. Staff neither friendly nor helpful. Common areas were always cold despite it being winter when we visited. Rooms: Broken room safe that had to be replaced, uncomfortable old beds with what I think were lumpy mattress toppers, a basin tap that would not turn off, a shower drain that took a while to drain, old aircon unit that was pointless because temperature is centrally controlled, a cordless phone that always said it was flat despite us never using it and it sitting in the charger. Room also wasn't cleaned one of the days we were there. For a five star hotel this is inexcusable. Buffet breakfast: Very small. During our six day stay there was only one type of butter for toast and a handful of margarine offered on one of the days we were there. When ordering custom eggs, the wait staff would tell us to order from the chef. The next day the chef would tell us to order from the waiting staff. Is it so hard to implement one basic ordering process for guests!? Level 3 Bistro: They have a crepes special for the month of July to celebrate Bastille day but the waitress didn't know about it and tried to shoo me away saying they finished lunch already. Granted I didn't have a booking and it was 3 pm, but there are signs at reception and on every table in the restaurant (!) that says crepes are served from 11am till 9pm. We also had dinner at the restaurant and I ordered the 200 gram steak for $62. There is no way that was 200 grams of steak! See photo: those are small campari vine tomatoes for contrast. That steak portion was 80-100 grams max. We won't be returning and we do not recommended. This place is so run down. For the price we paid you can find much better elsewhere in Surfers Paradise where all the fun and life is.

Hotel en buena ubicación, playa Broadbeach, cerca de lugares para conocer y con locomoción a mano. Las habitación ( Superior) era bastante grande y con todo lo necesario para una estancia cómoda El desayuno SUPERLATIVO, de todo y muy variado. La cama muy cómoda y de buen tamaño. LA vista al mar es fabulosa y a pesar de no estar en primera línea, tiene una muy buena vista desde el balcón El personal, muy amable , varios hablaban español, lo que nos simplificó bastante .

El hotel ya precisa una renovacion El diseño es antiguo y los cuartos de baño completamente desfasados Personal muy amable y profesional , tanto en recepcion como los bell boys Fui a usar el fitness y cual fue mi sorpresa , que era minusculo , sin tan siquiera un espacio para una esterilla y hacer estiramientos. Wifi muy lento

Gold coast se caracteriza por sus playas, descanso y divertirse. Este hotel garantiza todo esto! Al ser miembro Accor Platinum, apenas realizas el check in ya te encuentras con upgrade de habitación asegurado, y al llegar una degustación de postres de primera calidad del restaurant. Que lujo! Así da gusto hospedarse. La habitación súper amplia, completa y con una vista al mar increíble! Hemos cenado y tomado el desayuno en el restaurant del hotel y ha sido muy bueno! El complejo está conectado a una especie de Mall al cual se puede acceder desde el 3er piso del hotel, con un supermercado Woolworths y muchos locales ante lo que se necesite. Si bien la ubicación no es 'sobre' la playa, al estar a unas 2, 3 cuadras no nos pareció un inconveniente para acceder a la misma caminando. Lo recomendaría.
