Good staging point on journey, not easy to find and currently having a lot of work done on extending the facilities. Helpful receptionist arranged ad hoc charging for my electrtc vehicle. Currently installing proper EV charging points.

The receptionists were very welcoming and the appearance of the hotel was modern and clean. The rooms were basic but ideal for a short stay. We were provided with a great choice for breakfast and the restaurant meals were exceptional. The only criticism I have is that, to our disappointment, the restaurant was not open for the Friday night and Saturday night of our stay. Finding alternative dining options was very limited in the area.

I would not recommend this hotel. Very small room with hardly any place on the floor to open the suitcase. Bathroom had no exhaust with only one towel. Kettle had broken handle(although it did work). The bed had side tables only on one side.

A pleasant stay on our way to Calais

We stayed here one night on the way to Calais from Poitiers. We were checked in pretty quickly and were greeted with a complimentary drink. I ordered some dessert after the dinner hours and they happily accepted. The room was comfortable and clean. Nuxe toiletries smelled amazing. Great breakfast spread including scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. It felt like a treat because not many other hotels served any hot food at breakfast. There is ample parking at the hotel too. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again on another road trip to the south of France.

Lemans was a convenient post in our return journey fro our French house. The Mercure Batignolle looked suitable. I have mobility disabilities and we had booked an accessible room. Mercure offer a wide variety of hotels at different levels and prices but compared with a number of competitor hotels chains at similar prices, Batignolles does not compare well. The furniture n the room is inadequate, flimsy and arguably unsafe. The bed was vey small for two. There was only one chair. We ate on the terrace which is quite pleasant. However, while there may be difficulties during Covid, the dishes on the menu are inadequate. There is limited choice from microwaved offerings. Our main course had not been heated right through and were not palatable nor sat well on the stomach. They were also very expensive for the nature of the dishes. There were reasonable wines at reasonable prices available and a liquid dinner was to be preferred. The breakfast was very limited but happily ours was inclusive. We would have been very angry if we had been charged. In these difficult times of Covid, the staff were friendly and did all that they could. In all, a poor experience that did not prepare us for a long drive ahead. We will not return.
