Planning a trip? With so much to see, do, eat, and experience in Nottingham, figuring out your agenda can be hard. That’s why we’ve created this guide for how to spend a perfect day in Nottingham. Enjoy!

Historic attractions

Start the day at one of Nottingham’s visitor attractions, soaking up some history before the crowds descend. Nottingham Castle is closed for renovation until late 2020, but there’s plenty more to keep you occupied.
Newstead Abbey is a beautiful Grade II house set among landscaped gardens and parkland. Visit the abbey to experience its old-century charm. Once home to the master of Romantic poetry, Lord Byron, Newstead is an exciting place to visit whether you’re interested in architecture, literature, or history.
Alternatively, head to Wollaton Hall, the spectacular Elizabethan mansion which sits just a stone’s throw to the west of Nottingham. The Grade I listed building is home to the city’s Natural History Museum and sits among beautiful acres of deer-filled parkland.

A gallery afternoon

A stroll around a Nottingham museum or art gallery is the perfect way to stretch off. If art is your thing, head to Nottingham Contemporary for collections of local and international work. The green and gold gallery building is a spectacle, while inside, exhibitions hope to stimulate discussion about culture and society.
