Of course if you are visiting Tamworth for the international music festival, then the best time to visit is in January, when the music festival is hosted. January sees peak temperatures and high humidity and rainfall, it will also see increased crowds as many visitors will be there for the music festival.
Getting around Tamworth
There are public buses for getting around Tamworth so if you don't have a car with you and are looking for the cheapest way to move around, public buses are your best bet. There is a regional train line to take you into Tamworth and to other regional centres such as Dubbo but there is no train line to get you around Tamworth. Of course walking is also a wonderful option to take in the sights and stretch your legs.
