Mantra on the Esplanade Darwin 3 stars

The location, the bed and the shower were great. It was a struggle to get a friendly smile from the reception staff. They tried to get us to use their secure undercover parking for $19 a day. We parked out in the street with no issues. We got a room with ocean view but without a balcony. Balcony would have been better as the windows were so dirty the view was ruined and they couldn't be opened. We had room 310, the bathroom was dated with the shower in the bath tub. The mirror was in bad shape with lots of staining behind it. The hand-towel holder fell off the wall on first use and the toilet seat was attached so crooked you half sat on the porcelain. There is no room service for fresh towels etc unless you stay for more than 7 nights. We stayed for 6 and had to ask for fresh towels after day 4. If you want your room fully serviced they charge extra. Last issue.....coffee cups. It's those tiny ones with the tiny handle you can't get a finger through. Be warned, BYO.

Poor Venue, needs a major overhaul to the site and staff. Poor wifi, poor lighting in rooms, no phone charging options, couldn’t control the AC so the room got cold at night. No room service after 5 nights, no spare towels available. For the price there are better options available.

Great position but rooms are dated. Widows dirty and fly screens green with algae. Room service once a week Old style air conditioning no temperature settings. Feral cats in car park with stench to go with it. Backwards facing rooms pub noise til 11 pm terrible. No restaurant or room service. $19 a day to park car. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Spacious area with good view and amenities. May be could have an oven

Staff were friendly and manager was helpful. Pity about the rest of the hotel. Noise from backpackers next door was frustrating. 3rd room smelt of stale water from water leak(s)
