I am a diamond platinum member and chose the Mercure Bukhara because it is part of the Accor Group. On arrival my room was upgraded which was a nice surprise. However, that was the highlight of the trip. Having spent the morning sightseeing on my second day at the hotel I returned to my room at 13.30pm to find it had not been cleaned. I rang reception to ask what was happening and was told the hotel had until 17.00pm to clean the room. I advised I was going to rest and this would not be possible and to ask housekeeping to cancel the room clean and also advised that I would like to speak to the manager. At 14.30pm I was woken up by housekeeping who wanted to clean the room and who had clearly not been given the message. I never got to speak to the manager. I was travelling with a friend and on our first night we ate in the hotel restaurant. My friend was subsequently ill for several days after this and whilst we could not say that this was the result of the food it was the only thing we ate that day. Subsequent to the visit we found out that the hotel staff had been rude to our tour guide and the driver who was taking us around Samarkand and Bukhara. I reached out to the hotel on several occasions to speak to the manager to give the hotel the chance to rectify matters and on each occasion received no response. Indeed when I came to check out I spoke to Mikhail and he asked how our stay was. When I advised Mikhail that I had been given his email address and had reached out to him with our issues and that he had not even bothered to respond he did not have an answer. Bukhara is a fantastic place to visit and I would certainly recommend it. However, I would never stay at the Mercure again.

To the Management Team of Mercure Hotel, Dear Management, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the extremely unsatisfying "Instant Relief" massage service I received at your hotel at 13:30 on 28 July 2026 during my stay. Before the massage commenced, I clearly informed the therapist of my physical condition: I am highly ticklish (this is not an allergic reaction or physical ailment), and requested that they apply gentle and mild pressure throughout the session. However, the therapist completely disregarded my prior notice, performing the massage with rough techniques and inconsistent, unbalanced pressure. As the discomfort became unbearable, I shifted my body slightly to adjust my posture. Instead of modifying their technique or checking whether I felt comfortable, the therapist snapped at me in an impatient, harsh tone. Their hostile outburst severely offended my personal dignity and caused significant emotional distress. Furthermore, the massage session did not run for the full duration advertised on your service price list. After the massage concluded, my physical fatigue was not alleviated in the slightest; instead, my muscle soreness and exhaustion worsened noticeably. The treatment failed to deliver the basic relaxing therapeutic effect promised, and the service fell far below acceptable standards. As an internationally renowned hotel chain, Mercure is expected to deliver standardised, high-quality, professional and courteous auxiliary services. The therapist’s appalling lack of professionalism, rough handling and disrespectful verbal conduct have made me deeply question your hotel’s service standards and staff management protocols. This terrible experience has severely tarnished my overall stay and left me thoroughly disappointed. I hereby lodge a formal protest against this unprofessional, discourteous service incident.
