Most Terrible Ibis Ever.

There was a theft incident. I had placed my Celine hat and various other items in a shopping bag and left. When I returned in the evening, they were gone. I went to the reception and reported that my belongings were missing, but they told me that I would be informed the next day at 11 AM when the housekeeping staff came in. This wasn’t a cheap item; it was a hat worth several hundred dollars. The next morning at 8 AM, I received a call from the reception. They said they had found the hat and told me to come pick it up. I was so angry that I asked them to deliver it to me instead. When I received the hat (along with some snacks and miscellaneous items, but only the hat was returned), I asked why they took it, but the staff couldn't even give me an answer. I was relieved to have the hat back, but since I was about to fly back home, I didn’t argue further with the staff. After returning home, I sent an email to the manager explaining the incident and asking for feedback on what actions would be taken regarding the housekeeping staff. However, two days have passed, and I still haven’t received any response. I’ve stayed at many Ibis hotels worldwide, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. The staff’s service attitude is the worst. If you don’t want to experience something like this, I suggest you avoid this place.

This hotel is in the great location facing the main Shijo Street of Kyoto city. The room is relatively small but good enough, as room was clean and the bed is big and comfortable. The challenge is their service level. I was staying there for two consecutive nights, but the room cleaning person came in the room around 10am of the first morning when I was in a shower, and did not apologize. There was no “do not disturb” sign in my room to avoid. They did not refill coffee I used in the first day. Bento morning breakfast was cold and quite standard, which you can buy in the nearby convenience store.

Good location, helpful stuff. Stayed there for 4 nights while i was in Kyoto. Recommend to stay if you planning to go around most of the time since hotel in walking distance to most of the historical places around. There was a bit issue with breakfast (restaurant was closed for maintenance however was not mentioned while booking)

this is my next stay in this hotel. hotel in good condition, appreciate loyal Accor members. Special thanks for GM who can organize nice breakfast- bento box , every day different- when restaurant is close for renovation.

Stayed right now for two nights only. A bit too touristy its location but the rest was pretty good. Very good Diamond/Platinum status recognition, friendly and fast checkin, rooms bigger than regular in these more business oriented hotels. 5 Stars within its category. Breakfast you got at the coffee shop on the premises, a Tullys Cafe. Only the option of a pancake late or a hotdog plate. I actually dislike both but okay.Okay at the right price. My room was 1033and everything was more than okay. For the price paid.
