Many many thanks to Roshan & Yoko for all their help & guidance on my first visit to this storied city. The hotel is across the road from Kyoto station which is the origin point for the city tour buses as well as the high speed trains to Tokyo. The rooms are very comfortable & well maintained, breakfast is what you would expect - sumptuous, coffee machine at reception, plenty of dining options nearby ( especially in Kyoto station) including the famous Samrat ( Indian restaurant) a short walk away. Very comfortable & very convenient!

Great budget friendly hotel, stayed for three nights the location is really big draw card for me. It was directly across from the main entrance to Kyoto Station access to the Shinkansen was less then a 5 minute walk and there is a handy MK Taxi rank underneath the building on a side street making it easy to go anywhere in Kyoto and get back with minimal effort or stress. The room was fantastic it is a budget accommodation but we had plenty of room to move around store multiple bags and a full sized desk to utilize, the mini fridge was more then enough to store breakfast and drinks. The bed was very comfy my only discomfort was the Japanese style buckwheat pillows, i loathe those things with a passion now. The bathroom was spacious for a small business hotel styled room, and had a well utilized deep bath and shower combo i can't live without a hot bath after hours of walking it was a welcome edition. The laundry room could have done with a few more washers and driers as it was always in use and having to set a timer to get your washing or wait for the next person to finish tended to be a pain. Although on the next block there was a full laundromat so you could save a bit of time and walk down the street a bit.

Rooms too small and lack of English tv channels

Friendly, clean, convenient to station. BUT rooms are way too small, TV has one English Channel BBC news that was 2 days out of date. I would not recommend unless travelling alone, due to space. There is no safe in rooms either. The staff were helpful and had reasonable English and the breakfast was very basic.

Small compact hotel with great location. We had to catch an early morning Shinkansen to Narita airport Tokyo and it worked well for us. Breakfast was really good, there could have been more choice for vegetarians as well. Wish we could have stayed longer; the staff was very helpful.

Need to open up the stair cases!!!

We stayed here whilst on tour. It was basic and clean and the location opposite the railway station was brilliant. BUT there are only two lifts and no way to take the stairs as an alternative. Very frustrating. They must have stairs but you can’t use them and they are not signposted. If you needed to get out fast I’m not sure you could!!!
