Outstanding service!

Sincere thanks to Mark and the team for exceptional service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful it really made our stay so enjoyable. We received a golf view room upgrade and room was fresh and clean with very comfy king bed and crisp linen. We dined both nights in the restaurant with delicious Chinese menu, top wine list and views over the golf course complete with the antics of around 20 kangaroos! Again impeccable service! Breakfast also excellent and I recommend the continental plate, such a lovely selection of cereal, fruit , yoghurt and pastries! Also played 18 holes on the on site golf course, very well maintained course. Overall our stay was wonderful and the team were absolutely lovely!

Great location and kangaroos a plenty

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights while attending a wedding in the area. We chose the resort as I am a Platinum level Accor member, and we honestly had the best time. Firstly, the resort needs some work (pull your finger out Accor). While the grounds are well maintained and the golf course takes centre stage, there’s currently only a few refurbished rooms (of which we stayed in one - room 1). There was nothing wrong with our room and as it was a golf course view room we had an amazing view. I’m not sure about the non refurbed rooms - but other reports are they are a bit dated. The resort only fully operates on a Friday and Saturday night, so for a mid week stay they shut reception at about 4pm and there’s no evening dinner or drink options other than a trip into Normanville or Yankalilla. We receive a call that asked our check in time so that after hours check in procedures could be explained to us (had we been arriving late) We had comp breakfast each day, which was simple but ample. The staff were ALL amazing and did their best to ensure we had a great stay, and if it is wildlife you want, there are Kangaroos on your doorstep. Considering it’s proximity from Adelaide and the KI ferry I am not sure why this place is not packed - and we are already planning a return journey. Relax, unwind at very reasonable prices Oh and the golf course is terrific!

A relaxing stay with the spectacular Wirrina Cove hillside and grazing kangaroos as our neighbours.

We arrived around 5pm on Friday night to be 'greeted by a welcoming committee' of around 50 grazing kangaroos on the lawns. We were made most welcome by Kathy at reception and stepped into a lovely Golf View room. The airconditioner took little time to take the chill off the room which gave us a wonderful view across the golf course to the imposing hills beyond. They have started to refurbish their rooms and we stayed in the first one and were very impressed. Note: We would still have enjoyed our stay even if we had been given an unfurbished room as the friendly helpful staff and the spectacular natural surroundings made our stay so memorable. We enjoyed some fresh country air as we stepped out onto our balcony and got caught up watching kangaroos feeding and hopping around. We enjoyed chinese meals in the restaurant (see photo of menu) on Friday and Saturday nights. These are the only nights they serve dinner. This maybe because it was in winter time - you would need to check with the hotel on this regarding other more busier months. Fortunately there are places to eat in Normanville and Yankalilla - about 15 minutes drive away. The wood fired combustion heater was not far away from where we ate and we enjoyed a drink after the meal on the couch watching the flames dance around the glowing coals. We enjoyed a comfortable sleep each night awakened only by the birds welcoming the new day. Breakfast is served every morning and there is a choice of continental or cooked. For those who like a big breakfast then choose both! Just off the dining area is a pool table, table tennis and some slot machine games for the kids. Outside there is playground, an excellent 18 hole golf course and mini golf for the whole family to enjoy. There is an outdoor pool, heated spa pool, sauna and gym. On our last night we met up with another family who had decided to sit around the firepit and we spent an enjoyable time with them around the crackling fire. We were sad to leave and will definitely be returning. Thanks to Mark, Cathy, Ralph, Julie, Francis (chef) and Connie who made our stay so memorable. Also if you are travelling to Kangaroo Island on the early ferry or returning on the late ferry this resort is handy for a one night stopover (about a 20 minute drive).

Very dated hotel in the process of updating. Can’t believe how big the whole place is. Must’ve been a thriving holiday stop in it’s time. People running facilities were helpful. Wildlife abundance, kangaroos everywhere. Lots to offer on booking sites but nothing open on our stay there.

Just one night was enough..

The only good point I could make about the room we had was the bed was very comfortable. The pipes rattled in the bathroom, the room must have been an original, the television very hard to find channel. Was very dated. We shared the room with about 8 moths, 2 or 3 millipedes and a couple of mosquitos. Room had musty smell too but was bearable, Had dinner in cafe at reception, I ordered fish and chips and that’s what I got, 2 small pieces of fish with very greasy batter on top of probably 50 chips, not even a very small salad. That cost $28.80 absolute ripoff. Will not be staying there again and couldn’t recommend it to anyone. I understand it was a Budget room but $160 for that room was about $40 too much…
