Comfortable Rooms but Limited food Options

Visited the hotel for a family trip. The rooms are good and the lifts are fast. However, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. The same breakfast is served daily with very limited vegetarian options. There was a welcome drink, but it had to be claimed by visiting their café, and there was no sugar-free drink option. The hotel should consider improving breakfast variety, especially for families staying for 4–5 nights.

A small Sofitel, great panaramic views, although the setting or rising sun is likely to blaze into your window. No opportunity to open a window for fresh air, but rooms stylishly appointed. Good central city location. Reception staff is not as impressively groomed as at other So properties, and the meek porter on Monday morning was a mere lass who couldn't lift a bag, nor even offer help to check ins and outs. Most disappointing is the parochially early 11 am check out time, even for prestige Accor members. When I asked for a later time I was offered noon, then begrudgingly 1 pm (and after a long 10 minute phone call for approval). So much for connecting to later flights. I felt only slightly spoiled staying here (Hilton beds are better),, and certainly not luxury nor 5-star spoiled.

We had a club suite on a high floor with a view toward the Adelaide hills. It was quite roomy with a separate bedroom, good size walk in robe, large bathroom with bath. There was also a separate powder room with a 2nd toilet. The bar fridge in the room was tiny and not very cold. The room was noisy at night when trying to sleep. We could hear the nightclubs which were located in a street behind the hotel. One night the noise went on until 4am. There was a welcoming plate of fruit and chocolate on arrival. All the staff were nice and helpful. We opted for vallet parking and they bought our car around quickly whenever it was needed. The Club Lounge was nice. Lovely breakfast and nibbles and drinks in the evening.

Nous avons séjourné quelques nuits au Sofitel Adelaide. L'hôtel est bien situé, les chambres propres et bien aménagées. Cependant, bien qu'ayant le statut All Platinum, on m'a donné une chambre à l'étage 8, qui était assez bruyante en raison de la proximité de la rue (Currie Street). Le Club Millésime est vraiment à revoir : la salle est orientée côté ville, alors que la vue côté mer est plus agréable. Sur un séjour de cinq jours, le menu pour le "evening drink", à partir de 17 heures, était exactement le même. Aucun changement, cela dissuade vraiment de revenir le lendemain, à moins d'avoir un goût très prononcé pour la routine. Le gestionnaire de ce Club Millésime ferait bien de visiter celui du Sofitel Darling Harbour, qui propose des canapés chauds et froids qui changent tous les jours, ainsi que des cocktails maison avec un service bien plus attentionné.

Wir wohnten eine Woche lang im 22. Stock mit einer großartigen Aussicht in die Adelaide Hills. Auch in anderen Aspekten ist die Lage am Rande der Innenstadt großartig, denn Einkaufsstraßen, Parks (incl. eines sehr schönen Zoos), gute Restaurants (vom sicher auch sehr guten im Hause, das wir leider aus Zeitgründen nicht probieren konnten abgesehen) und Veranstaltungsorte sind bequem fußläufig zu erreichen - in unserem Falle sogar nur etwa 3 km bis zu einer ehemaligen Formel-1-Rennstrecke, die immer noch dann und wann tolle Veranstaltungen bietet, so während unseres Aufenthaltes das Finale der australischen Top-Motorsportklasse. Unser Zimmer war von sehr generöser Größe und bot auch viel Stauraum für unser (auf drei Wochen gerechnetes, samt Opernbesuchen!) Gepäck. Außerdem viele USB-Ladeanschlüsse im Zimmer verteilt - kein elektronisches Gerät bleibt unaufgeladen ;-) Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücksangebot, nicht ganz billig, aber preiswert. Das Personal ist sehr hilfreich und freundlich. Bei Anreise mit dem Auto: streßfrei-bequemes und ggf. regengeschütztes Ausladen in einer Durchfahrt hinter der Hotellobby. Garagenplätze gibt es in ca. 100 m Entfernung in einer an sich recht geräumigen Hochgarage zum Hotelgast-Sondertarif. Einfahrt dort nicht ganz locker möglich, da sehr enge Kurve zum Einfahrtsschranken - im Zweifelsfall besser ein kleineres Auto mieten...
