We had a wonderful 3 days at Mt Lofty, our first time staying in the Adelaide Hills. What a spectacular location and gorgeous hotel. We were warmly welcomed and felt instantly relaxed and ready for a great stay. Terrific breaks fast each morning. Lovely lying by the pool and strolling around the garden. Room was a little small but it had a terrific bath, so I was very happy! Staff were fabulous - profesional, friendly and super helpful. Look forward to returning.

We booked the hotel as we were told it was one of the best hotels in South Australia. Unfortunately I cannot agree. It was very disappointing and I wouldn’t want to stay there again. When we arrived we were given a garden view room which unfortunately meant the only things on view were us. There was no privacy as it only had thick curtains which we had to close most of the time so there was really no point being up in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. We asked to move and offered to pay but were told though we were staying for five nights we could only move for the last night so we didn’t bother. Also when we arrived my Wife requested a spa treatment but we were informed that there was no availability until the day we were leaving so that didn’t work. Next we asked if there was a hotel car to take us to some places we’d like to visit. They said there is one but it isn’t for you and can only be used by Sequoia guests so we had to rely opinion rather unreliable taxis who clearly didn’t want to make the journey up into the hills. This was a pain but also rather expensive so make sure you have a healthy taxi budget if you are staying and don’t have your own car. Finally, the restaurant. It’s was awful! We were told the only time we could book was 6.00pm on our final night and though we were there at exactly 6 we were ignored until 6.30 when they finally asked us what we’d like to drink. It didn’t get any better, each course took half an hour to come, which is a long time with a tasting menu and though the first few courses were very nice the meat courses were cold and we gave up. We didn’t wait for the for the desert courses as it was already 9.30pm and we really didn’t want to wait another couple of hours to finish as we had a flight in the morning. No one seemed to care about this, and that really sums up Mount Lofty House. It’s a nice historic building but it lacks any feeling of warmth or welcome. The staff are nice enough but you alway feel as though you are doing them a favour by being there and guests are really rather annoying! My tip, if you are thinking of spending the money to stay here, don’t. If you are attending a wedding or a party it’s a beautiful venue but it’s not a place for a holiday.

Regarding your room, our team provided a complimentary upgrade on your first evening to ensure you remained in the same room for the full duration of your stay across two reservations. Our Piccadilly Garden Rooms each feature either a balcony or courtyard overlooking the estate gardens, a space many guests enjoy for quiet moments during their stay. I am sorry this did not meet your expectations for privacy and outlook. We were at full occupancy during your stay, which unfortunately limited alternative room options, and while an upgrade was available for your final night, I understand this was not suitable. For spa bookings, we reach out by email to encourage guests to reserve in advance, as our Gatekeepers Day Spa often fills quickly. I understand how disappointing it must have been that the available times did not align with your schedule. Mount Lofty Estate does not operate a complimentary guest vehicle, but we work with a professional chauffeur service to assist with touring the region. I am sorry this did not meet your expectations, and I can understand how frustrating taxi delays can be. Regarding your dining experience, I am very sorry that the pace of service during your evening did not meet the high standards we aim for. While your table was relocated to ensure your comfort and we offered to deliver the remaining dessert courses to your room, I understand you preferred not to enjoy this, given your early flight. Finally, I am sorry you felt a lack of warmth during your stay. Genuine hospitality is at the heart of what we do, and we regret that we fell short on this occasion. Your feedback is valued and will help us continue to improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again so you may enjoy the warm hospitality and unique charm that Mount Lofty House is known for.

La bâtisse est magnifique. Mais c’est très ancien, donc il fait assez vite froid. Par contre j’ai logé dans une chambre borgne sans fenêtre sur l’extérieur (chambre no30) catastrophique.

Prachtig ingericht oud landhuis, met werkelijk subliem uitzicht over de Adelaide Hills. Aardige en hulpvaardige bediening, en heerlijke kamer met prachtig uitzicht, met “room with a view”. Diner kan ofwel met menu in chic restaurant ofwel met kleine kaart in bistro. Ontbijt is uitgebreid, niet als buffet, maar a la carte.

Todoe en este hotel parece hecho a medida par que su estadia sea plcentera y una experiemcoa unica. El personal es excelente y muy amable y te hace sentir un huesped de lujo desde que llegas hasta quete vas. Nos habiamos alojado en Monunt Lofty hace un año pero en la casa principal, este nuevo anexo que se llama Sequoia es un lodge mas lujoso y moderno aun que la casa principal, con vistas unicas y las habitaciones estan hechas para una experiencia unica, con toda la tecnologia disponible y todo domotizado, desde el baño, la cama, las luces, la chimenea, cortinas, tv, musica etc, puedes cambiar todo con solo oprimir un boton casi como la casa de James Bond. El desayuno y la comida es de primera, hay un spa y varias actividades interesantes para hacer. FuImos con un bebe y nos trajeron una cuna y facilitaron todo para hacer de nuest Ra esta dia algo inolvidable. Como miembro de la cadena Sofitel, espero ansioso que nos inviten a la inauguracion oficial el 1 de Agosto. Felicito a los dueños, el personal y los arquitectos.
