A fantastic stay in Perth’s CBD

We just wrapped up a 5 night stay and couldn’t not be happier with our choice to stay at the Novotel Perth Murray Street. The good : - We arrived early in Perth and got to the hotel at 9am. Planning on just storing our bags, we asked if there was a chance of an earlier check in. To our pleasant surprise the room was ready immediately so we were able to head straight up to our room - As an Accor ALL Silver member we were able to take advantage of the complimentary welcome drinks provided. You also get faster WIFI in your room. - The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were a good size with the showers the standout feature. - The valet service was very efficient, we never waited more than a few minutes for our car to be bought to the front of the hotel - We also asked for a later checkout, 12:30pm instead of the standard 11am and we’re told this was not a problem. - The location is fantastic. A short stroll to Perth train station, 10min walk to Kings Park, 10min to Elizabeth Quay and surrounded by great dood and drink options. Lil’s, about 50 metres up the road has a great rooftop bar. Light Years is just around the corner and there are a number of options at Yagan Square, a 5 min walk away. - A little thing but the lifts. There 6 of them, super fast between floors and we never had to wait long for one. - The water taps in the lobby bar. Still or sparkling water on demand was a great feature. We would fill our water bottles everyday on the way out. The parts that could be better. - The pillows are on the soft side. On our last day we realised they do offer options but this information isn’t made readily available in the room. It’s accessed via the menu on the TV. - Part of the reason we chose the hotel was due to the pool. The pool itself is a good size for a CBD hotel but more should be done to soften the space up there. It’s very dark (even as a rooftop) and just feels a bit cold and lifeless. Some more greenery and colour or a mural on the long grey wall that runs along one side of the pool would help. Overall a fantastic base for our 6 days in Perth.

Von außen modernes Gebäude, gutes Restaurant im Haus, nette Mitarbeiter. Zimmer wirklich jedoch etwas abgewohnt, Reinigung des Gebäudes, insbesondere des Flurs und des Hotelgyms ließ zu wünschen übrig. Gläser standen 2 Nächte auf dem Gang, Teppich fleckig, Displays der Geräte waren verschmiert und wirkten uneinladend. Am Samstag war die Bar direkt vor dem Hotel in meinem Zimmer extrem laut zu hören und raubte mir meinen Schlaf. Trotz der guten Lage zum Zentrum würde ich nicht nochmal übernachten.

Comfortable Stay with a Few Mixed Moments at Novotel Perth

As a returning guest, I found the Novotel Perth Murray Street to offer a generally pleasant experience with some notable highlights and a few areas for improvement. The check-in process was smooth, though I was disappointed by the lack of acknowledgment of my platinum status. No mention was made of potential upgrades or breakfast perks, though I was placed on the 20th floor with a good view. The absolute standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the bedding. The bed is quite simply one of the most comfortable I've encountered in a hotel, with an exceptional pillow-top mattress that ensures a restful night's sleep. Whoever designed the bedding deserves genuine praise. Breakfast was a bright spot during my stay. Served from early hours, the spread was very good, though it does get busy. My recommendation is to arrive early - around 6:30 am - to beat the rush. One slight irritation was the coffee policy: only one barista coffee is included with breakfast, with subsequent coffees charged separately. This approach feels somewhat penny-pinching and could be reconsidered. My primary disappointment came from the recreational facilities. Despite choosing the hotel partly for its steam room, I found it was out of order. The pool area, while present, was uninviting due to the number of children, and a frustrating lack of towels in both the pool and changing areas deterred me from using these facilities. The hotel was quite bustling, with several young families in residence, which might be a consideration for travelers seeking a quieter environment. The overall experience was a mixed bag of exceptional comfort and minor frustrations. The supremely comfortable bed nearly made up for the operational shortcomings. While the hotel provides a solid stay, there are clear opportunities for improvement in guest services and facility maintenance. For those considering this hotel, expect a comfortable night's sleep with some caveats. The Novotel Perth Murray Street delivers on basic comfort but falls short in some of the finer points of hospitality. It's a good option for travelers prioritising a restful bed and convenient location, but those seeking a truly luxurious experience might want to look elsewhere.

The room itself was decent enough & had a good bathroom/Shower area the location of the hotel is very good as pubs, convenience stores, parking, cafes, nightclubs are all in the street & the Murray street mall with shopping is a 5 minute walk away as well as Rac arena being. Lose by, the facilities seem fairly new, we used the pool a lot but probably because it was busy regularly they had no towels & we had to go to reception to get some delivered also a bar area seems to be in the pool area but it never opened when we were there over the 3 days so people had to bring their own food/drinks in. The valet front door man was always friendly with a smile greeting my son the only other thing that stopped this being a really good hotel was a lot of families were staying here but prices of drinks $25 for a cocktail & food a steak sandwich $36 seems more like a 5 star hotel like Crown or Ritz prices.
