Stayed here for the weekend on the top floor. Receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Room recently renovated and brilliant apart from having no bulbs fitted in the lamps so it was a very BRIGHT room as only the ceiling lights working. ( The receptionist said it was because they had to re-order the right size bulbs?). Loved the new decor. Had a bit of a job managing to find channels on the tv but it was a nice big wall mounted one. Air con was good and heated the room nicely. Liked the fact that the windows opened. Bathroom small but very clean and adequate. Shower not that powerful. Corridors a bit too dark… could do with a lighter paint colour. But the bed… both the mattress and pillows…WOW… so comfy it was hard to get out of!! Cleaning staff helpful. Didn’t use the restaurant for evening meal or breakfast. Friday night it was totally empty and Saturday night it was heaving with a private party. We used the nearby restaurants to eat. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Brilliant place the food is amazing rooms are spotless but what makes the place special is the funniest most friendly staff ever ..we laughed from the minute we got here untill we left ....so will definitely book again ...the area manager was so funny and has a brilliant team working here can't fault any of them xxxx

Stayed here for one night. Arrived around 3pm. Couldn’t get into hotel so had to ring the buzzer to be let in. Checked in quickly Room looked clean and tidy and was a decent size although it was very cold. Bed was really comfortable and the pillows were good quality and also very comfortable. The bathroom was nicely decorated and had a good walk in shower. TV was a good size. Went to make a cup of tea and noticed that the mugs were very dirty, one in particular had the residue of what looked like cuppa soup all around the rim and down one side of the mug, the tea spoons were also not clean, one looked like some one had been eating chocolate mousse and there were the remains of that on the spoon. Went for breakfast in the morning, paid £10 each for cooked breakfast. There was a good continental breakfast, lots of cereal, croissants, pancakes etc. the cooked breakfast was OK, sausages were nice and of good quality, bacon was thick, but In my opinion not worth £10. For the price we paid for the stay it was OK.

Pleasantly surprised, when entering the hotel, how modern it was as the outside doesn’t suggest as such. It’s in a rather random spot, on edge of industrial park, we struggled to find it. On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and I asked if we could have a coffee, as I’d spied the hot drinks machine on the bar and that wasn’t a problem at all, so brownie points for that. Room was really nice, very modern, tea and coffee making facilities which is a must and some water. Room was clean….although on checking out I looked under our bed and there was an empty bottle of water lying under it…(not ours) so housekeeping need to peep under beds for litter etc. The breakfast was great, lots of choice…. croissants, decent bread for toast, cheese, salami and lovely Tiptree jams! We had a full English which was delicious! All in all I would highly recommend this hotel.

First time visiting this hotel whilst seeing family in the area. I couldn’t believe how quiet it was. It’s a great location for diggerland. I feel the hotel could do better at advertising things like digger land, the local harribo factory, nothing was mentioned at all in the room information.. nothing mentioned about xscape which is 10 minutes away. It’s a great hotel in an ideal location next to the m62. The hotel has been modernised. I wasn’t keen on the black paintwork as it’s peeling off and looks worn already- not a great choice ibis. The corridors are painted really dark.. The room was really clean and modern with lots of tea, coffee, milk etc which was great. The whole hotel was really clean and the bed was super comfy. The air con was a bit noisy and gurgly but it kept the room cool. Breakfast was surprisingly quiet, only 1 other family eating whilst we were there.. not a vast choice but unsure how many customers they were expecting. It was adequate for us for our stay but minimal in comparison to another well known chain, cooked breakfast was nice .. There weren’t many visible staff, a member asked if we were ok at breakfast and then disappeared, when we checked out there was no one at reception… it just seemed a bit deserted at times but I’m guessing they were doing multiple things. We’d stay again when visiting, just a shame to see it so quiet.. it has a lot of potential, maybe just needs selling better to visitors
