Stayed whilst in Leeds for work - overall was fine. Would use again if needed. Was nearer to town than looks on the maps and the access under the A58 flyover was fine as a pedestrian. Desk staff on arrival and during the stay were very supportive (-:

The hotel entrance is very unwelcoming and gloomy with graffiti on the outside wall of the building . The restaurant area is very dark with cheap plastic chairs and tables . The communal areas such as the lift area and corridor smelt like a wet dog. The carpets were very stained . The room felt like a prison cell or more like hostel accommodation . With a small dirty window overlooking a motorway . Extremely basic room with poor decor and an odd plastic “pod” for a bathroom. Despite this the towels and bedding were very clean apart from the bed having a mattress topper over a black mattress that didn’t quite fit the bed properly the bed was actually quite comfortable . There is no room service but you can bring food up from the bar in a tray which isn’t easy trying to juggle as the card for the door failed to work on several occasions . The only mark I gave it was for the breakfast which was surprisingly nice . I was booked for 3 nights while staying in Leeds for work purposes but checked out after only 1 and stayed elsewhere .

Myself and my partner stayed at ibis two nights so we could go to emmerdale tour a d they recommend the car park across from the hotel! DO NOT USE IT because I woke up to my ford ranger broken into for loose change leaving me with a smashed window and having to drive an hour 20min home . Also a Mercedes car had same treatment.

Overpriced hotel for a basic room

Stayed in this hotel on the 28th of September has we was going to watch Paul Smith. And I wouldn’t say it’s worth the £150 I paid for the night the room is so basic the toilet looks like one from a train it’s weird we had to report the toilet door has it wasn’t shutting properly the light fitting came off in my hand I must admit the maintenance man came very quickly and was very friendly the hotel is close to the town centre am not sure I would stay here again has I found it expensive for just a basic room for not a basic price

Improved but still could be better

Some six months ago, I vowed never to stay again at the Ibis Marlborough Street Leeds after a dreadful experience which I never wanted to repeat, however, due to an initial booking error, I have now resided at this hotel three times in the past couple weeks and have to report that it is much improved and I can now recommend this hotel to other potential clientele. Above all else customer service has improved immeasurably, the hotel team are now pleased to greet guests and provide them with admirable hospitality throughout their residence, striving to go that extra mile to ensure patrons can have the best stay possible. Special mention to the awesome barman Ian for his outstanding service and friendly words. The rooms are showing their age and would benefit from a refurbishment, however, the beds are extremely comfortable, the pillows soft and cosy and the duvet warming all aiding a good night's sleep. The disappointing aspects of the room are the dreadfully, small, old and miserable analogue television and the hard wooden desk chair which is horrible to sit on if working for long periods. The en-suite bathroom pod was spotlessly clean, and benefits from a powerful shower yet improvements could be made to the towels which were old and worn out. The hot and cold eat as much as you like breakfast buffet is fantastic and worth the money paid; a good variety of high-quality food and drink, well presented and expertly cooked. The hotel location is good, if not wonderful, being on the edge of the city centre, approximately a twenty-minute walk to the centre of the shopping, and nightlife areas together with the train and bus stations. (The train station is a £6 taxi ride away), car parking is easy.
