Ibis Styles Magenta. Awful customer service

For balance, I have stayed at the Ibis Styles Magenta twice before and it has been great. But! This is the first time there has been a problem with the room and the customer service was awful. We arrived in the morning and our room wasn’t ready so we went off exploring and came back in the evening to check-in. By this time there was a different staff member on. She told us that the room we had booked was faulty and we had been moved to the main Ibis round the corner. We went to have a look and it was ok but not what we had booked so I went back to ask if they could organise for us to move to an Ibis Styles and that we didn’t mind moving area. And this is where it all went wrong. She was so rude! Firstly she was affronted that I didn’t like the main Ibis and was very clear that she would not be looking for an Ibis Styles for us. As she was still checking people in when I was speaking with her I queried this and she said they were checking into double rooms. I asked why she hadn’t offered us that and she said the hotel was overbooked! This made me wonder if the room was actually faulty or just no longer available. I then asked to see the faulty room and she said she wouldn’t show me and that I had to accept the Ibis we had been moved to. As a last resort I asked to speak to the manager but she said she wouldn’t disturb them. Fair enough as it was the evening but when I asked if I could speak with the manager the next day to try and move to an Ibis Styles she said no and that the manager wasn’t available til Friday (it was Tuesday) but she confirmed the manager was working all week! So all in all a horrible customer service experience. All that was needed was for the lady to try just a little bit. She clearly didn’t think she had to. I know Ibis is a budget brand so maybe it’s wrong to expect some basic level of customer service? And to perhaps highlight the point. The lady at the reception at the main Ibis was so lovely and helpful. She could see we’d not have a great time at the Ibis Styles and she didn’t have to get involved but she was so sympathetic about it and gave me a free glass of wine. So kudos to her as she made the experience not feel as bad. Wish I could have written the same about Ibis Styles Magenta. I think it’s when things go wrong that you find out how good a hotel is, or not!

Overbooking and poor reaction

Hello Sirs, I have had an open complaint with you since October 7, 2024 with no solution. I paid for a room and when I arrived it wasn't available (my son had to sleep on the floor). No one is saying what will be done? ibis Styles Paris Gare de l'Est Magenta Reservation NQVHDNSS. Offering a points voucher that can't be used in any hotel (only some of the more expensive ones) is a bad proposition, imagine if it were the other way around and something wasn't fulfilled by the client.

Hotel with the feeling of a Youth Hostel....

My review was deleted so thought to write one here. The Hotel has the feeling of a Youth Hostel and staff that are similar (hard to get a smile or interaction with them... not the usual hotel staff...) The room was small...the bathroom even smaller - barely enough room to use the toilet! Broken features were: - Table lights - Aircon The Breakfast was fairly basic It won't be on my list of places to stay in Paris... Avoid

The venue said it was wheelchair accessible - it wasn't. As a wheelchair user I couldn't get into the hotel or downstairs to breakfast. Room was not clean. Very noisy outside all night and felt dangerous. Only single glazed window. Terrible experience and would never return.

My experience wasn’t in person as I never made the trip but was charged for the full service of the days I pre-booked

Firstly I Pre-booked this hotel for the 23rd of August on hold, and changed the date to 11th September 2024. My visa to France wasn’t issued, lost a big chunk of money(on flights, visa etc). I contacted the hotel via the chat app I used to issue a cancellation on the 27th August as I cannot make the trip. Hotel bluntly ignored me so I assumed it was settled. Fast forward on the 9th of September, the sum of €701.95 was debited from my card as my booking charge and another said sum tried leaving my account the next two days before I blocked the card. I reached out to hotel straight away via email as(I cannot ring the phone number because I am in the uk), no response. Contacted booking.com where I made the booking and they picked up and assured me the money will be refunded as my case will be classified as exceptional, but hotel got back to them that it is a non-refundable policy booking and full payment has to be made. I was unaware about this, I also made booking.com know. Up until today, my money is with the hotel and I asked, How can you take full charge of payment for a service you didn’t issue out to the client. After writing several email explaining my situation and what the cost of that money had affected me,(work suspended me. A single mum) because it was work money and they have been requesting for their money back. I have never encountered such a terrible and wicked act of service/policy. Booking.com staffs have tried to appeal and see reasons, both management and front desk remain adamant to refund my money. kindly refund my full money Ibis Styles. Without communicating to your clients who might be ignorant of your stupid policy, it’s a Scam!
