Pleasant warm clean hotel with a good location.

A 2 week business trip at short notice wasn't ideal for my first visit to Poland. I arrived only knowing how to say "Hello" and "Thank you". Fortunately for me I found that all of the hotel staff can speak fluent English. In fact the staff are the hotel's greatest asset especially the hospitality staff working on the ground floor. All are pleasant polite and friendly, smiling, sharing a joke and making my stay more enjoyable. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The quality of the food and beers served was very good. The only criticism I can think of is that if you're staying for a longer duration than just a weekend then you might find the evening menu slightly limited. However there are a plethora of different places to eat within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. I also found that the hotel's location just a minute's walk from the railway station and the [relative to the UK] VERY cheap rail travel means that this hotel would be a viable choice for people visiting Krakow [the direct train took 50 minutes and cost me under £20 for a 70km journey first class! Katowice is also cheaper than Krakow. Finally the five storey shopping centre next to the railway station is full of brands familiar to us Brits - Nike, Adidas, North Face TKMAXX etc.... that's also a 2 minute walk from the hotel. I'd definitely stay here again and also recommend it to others. Overall the hotel was by far the best part of my trip.

This hotel is in a good location for the train station and shops etc, and that is handy. All of the staff seemed very nice, including the restaurant staff and the reception staff, expect for the person who checked me in. Thankfully I never had to deal directly with that person again but he was hovering around regularly. I do not expect to be spoken to in the way he did with such a foul look, especially with status in the Accor loyalty scheme. Unfortunately, it was not possible to be upgraded this time, and I got a bit of soap. Loyalty is important there it seems /s. Anyway, the hotel was ok but nothing special. Kind of a bit of a strange atmosphere it seemed to me.

Check-in was fast and friendly. The hotel is right next to the train station and a large shopping mall. The room was on the 8th floor, nice view out the window. A comfortable double bed, a walk-in shower, good wifi, and a large TV complemented the room. There was no noise from outside the room; it was very well insulated. A large breakfast buffet is available in the morning. Plenty to choose from. This is, of course, extra unless you booked your room with breakfast included. All in all, a pleasant stay, and I can highly recommend the hotel.

If I was feeling churlish I might limit this review score to 4.5 because it wasn't absolutely perfect, but few things in life are! Price is key here, or it was for me, and this was very reasonable with breakfast. Location is ideal for the railway station and attached shopping centre and it's only a 5 to 10 minute walk into town. Room clean, simple and functional. I liked the low light in the bathroom, ideal for those of us who have to visit in the night. TV channels were available in English, if that is your thing. Bed very comfortable. A/C very good once you get the hang of it - try turning it on when you think it's already on. Breakfast was good and wide ranging at this price point. Slightly disappointing for a vegetarian on the hot food side, basically eggs and beans, but good on cheese and salad. I did not have dinner or drink there, but beers starting at 20zl is reasonable for a hotel bar in Poland. Staff, as ever, are what made my stay. Friendly and helpful, this is Polska what else would you expect? (With very few exceptions in my experience.)
