My husband and I have stayed at multiple other 21C hotels in other cities. We have always loved the experience. This was our first hotel experience since the beginning of the pandemic, and although we have adjusted expectations, we were not impressed. The room was incredibly dusty, and when the very loud HVAC kicked on, dust kicked up too. The Nespresso machine and coffee area was covered in a layer of dust and the water tank looked like it had never been cleaned. There were handprints on the wall above our bed, on the bathroom mirror, and the mirror in the room was covered with drips and smudges. The bathroom did not have hand soap (shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were available), the shower had mildew growing in the corners, and leaked all over the floor. I’m not sure if this is standard, but the bed was made up with a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheets, so when I accidentally pulled that back thinking it was the top sheet, a dingy mattress protector was exposed. Overall, we stayed, and we didn’t complain because we understand staffing shortages with the pandemic. The bar was a lovely experience with great drinks, and staff throughout were kind. It was suitable for a night, but did not live up to the reputation of previous experiences at 21c hotels in other locations.

Great stay over three days recently. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Lockbox breakfast and dinner were excellent (I especially loved the overnight oats and banana bread). Great downtown location. Valet staff are VERY responsive and fast. I also really loved the TV documentary about acquiring the art for the museum! Just a very very solid stay in a great hotel/museum.

Overall it was nice, but has a lot of room for improvement.

We loved the location of the hotel, the restaurant has excellent food, and the bed was very comfortable. And while nice, the staff had horrible communication, needs a lot of training, and made us jump through unnecessary hoops. The price was too high for the room & the lack of high-quality service. We may eat in the restaurant again but wouldn’t stay at the hotel.

I have the opportunity to visit the Lexington Kentucky 21C regularly once or twice or more a year. I always look forward to interacting with the friendly and professional staff, enjoying the culinary delights in the Lockbox restaurant, the comfort and familiarity of my room(s), and especially there inspiring and stimulating displays of art.

The room was clean, great amenities. Only thing that didn't shine was the fact that the gallery was very lackluster. Giant rooms with 2 pieces of artwork in them. Feels like the inventory could be increased.

Hi, I love your hotel and the people who work there. But it's very hard to travel on business when there is no hotel bar to meet clients, dinner after you've worked a long day, or breakfast in the morning, on more than 50% of your days there. I can't encourage you strongly enough to re-open Lockbox every day, because you're going to lose business to the Marriott across the street.

I booked a skylight suite. The suite assigned was literally next to the gym and shared a common wall. Bathroom was very substandard with the shower consisting of a shower curtain across the shower cubicle with the shower sharing the floor with the bathroom. Skylight was barely noticable and windows were dirty. I asked for another suite but was told that none were available. I checked out the next morning and found another hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

The valet experience when we got to the hotel was not very welcoming. Think you need more than 1 person in valet for hectic days. The room was adequate but the lotion amenity was open and left in bathroom. I tried to buy the bourbon in shop and the front desk lady couldnt find the key to open the cabinet where the bottle I couldnt buy the bottle. Loved your shop and the items in there but really not well-trained staff or perhaps short handed. In contrast, I also went to the bar at the 21c in Louisville and your bartender woman was FANTASTIC!! The staff at front desk was wonderful and helpful as well.

The hotel is highly rated but for me the experience was a meh. The carpet in the room felt dingy. The restaurant was either out of the things we ordered or closed. There was no bar service on one night of our stay so we couldn’t get small bites or a drink. There was coffee in the morning but it was available at the front desk, which felt more Motel 6 than an upscale boutique hotel chain. The desk staff was at best lackluster, at worse uninterested in anything other than processing our stay and getting on with whatever they and other staff were doing in the back. Everything about this hotel felt like an afterthought. Sure there is the art. But once you’ve walked through and looked at the art, you have to return to your room because there are no other areas to sit, gather, to have a drink or a conversation. I won’t book another 21C. By contrast, I stayed at The Grady in Louisville the next two nights of my trip. One of my BEST hotel stays ever. I would suggest sending people to study what they are doing at the Grady and implement it at 21C.

Our room was not made up on the one day we stayed There was no hairdryer in the room - The front desk did get us one but at 7am is when you need it The toilet seat in room 1005 is cracked

21c is a beautiful hotel in the heart of a revitalized Lexington, Kentucky. Unfortunately, I once again was not able to visit the gallery and truly appreciate all of the detailed touches, due to the circumstances of my visit. However, it is an oasis and comfortable place to rest, eat, and drink with a mostly attentive and accommodating staff. In fact, I want to highlight Maggie the bartender from Lockbox, for introducing me to an indulgent glass (and eventual bottle) of chardonnay and one of the hostesses (I didn't catch her name) for sending me the best banana bread I have ever eaten, upon learning that I was in town for my Mom's funeral services. I only have two complaints about my stay. First, the sink in the bathroom didn't drain properly, so it kept backing up and took forever to clear, which was kinda gross. Lastly, one of the employees was rude to my sister as she arrived to pick me up so that we could attend the burial of my Mom. Even when she told her I why she was there, it didn't matter. To me, situations like this are opportunities to showcase your organizations customer service. In this case, she failed, which despite the fact that from check-in to check-out everyone else was wonderful but that one encounter is what will give me pause when considering whether to return.

made reservation and had early check in request, arrived a little later and room was still not available. Had to change in the public restroom. Staff offered to keep my luggage there since I let the valet have my car. Had to go get my own car, Also when I came back at 1030pm they could not even take my luggage to my room. I had to walk to the side lot to get my car the next morning as well. Requested to be contacted by manager and it never happened,

My husband and I were visiting our son for a UK football game. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The room we had was a corner room and I did love it! It had a minibar fridge and a Nespresso machine. We enjoyed going around and looking at the Art that was in the hotel, which makes this place so unique. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was great!! I would definitely stay here again.
