My wife and I come to lexington for date nights often. We stay in a nice hotel and have a nice dinner. I booked the 1200 sq ft suite. We got there amd.checked in. Nothing was said to us about anything being different when we checked in. We went up to our room and noticed a very bad smell first. I went to the phone to call the front desk and noticed the room was half the size of the room we booked. My wife opened the mini fridge and it smelled like rotting fish. I called the front desk and told them about the smell and that we where in the wrong room. She said they where completely booked so the only thing they could do was send someone up to spray the room and remove the fridge. Since it was a uk home game, no other rooms where available elsewhere so we where forced to stay and we went to dinner as planned hoping removing the fridge would fix the smell. When we got back from dinner, the fridge was put in the hallway by the door. The room smelled some better but still had a smell. We decided to make the most of the rest of the night and just check out the next morning. When my wife got in the shower she noticed the black grout was white with soap film like it hadn't been scrubbed in a long time. Very disappointing for a motel of this caliber and price. We went to check out and where told we would have a receipt emailed to me. After a few hours, I still hadn't received the receipt so I looked at my credit card and was surprised to see we where charged for the larger suite. I called the hotel and was told the office mgr would call me on Monday. I did receive a call and she apologized for the mix up that the big suite was double booked somehow. She said she would credit me $150 for the inconvenience. I told her about the other issues and she said she would give me a voucher for a discounted stay our next trip but we probably won't be staying again. I brought up that the room we where put in was half the price of the suite we booked so she gave me another $150 credit so we basically paid full price for a room we didn't want and didn't book that wasnt cleaned well and smelled like rotting fish. Very disappointed in the experience especially since my wife and I dont get to do this often and it put a big damper on the trip

We loved the restaurant food and drinks. The hotel room materials and fixtures quality was very low. Bedding was rough, room was cold, mirrors everywhere was strange, bathroom sink was hard to use (almost broke a nail.

The good: loved the whole museum and night at the museum bourbon pours. Lobby and art is so nice. The corner room was awesome and very clean. We slept great. Valet was so easy and fast. The bad: coffee in room is terrible. No coffee downstairs for guests (besides sitting down at the restaurant) is almost a deal breaker. Old mini bar was empty and would have been great to repurpose this space and have a fridge for our water and leftovers. No ice buckets or ice on floors. Very small TV compared to size of room. Besides all of this still gave 5 stars.
