The 21c Museum Hotel is a unique spot and very conveniently located to everything downtown. The staff is very friendly, too. However, I was unable to get hot water in the bathroom. When I called the front desk, the person said to let it run for a while. After 10 minutes, I gave up waiting (it was late and I'd had a long day of travelling). A barely lukewarm shower in a very cold bathroom is not fun, especially at midnight. The front desk person apologized the next day and did reduce the room cost by 10%. I recommend asking about the water situation when you make your reservation.

We used our auction won stay and chef’s table and the one night stay. The suite was great and frlt Luxurious and the view over Durham was great. The chef’s table meals was some of the best food we have had.

We checked in and arrived in our room to find the main light fixture out as well as a bathroom light. We have been sitting in the dark after a long day of travel. Two polite requests to make the repair have produced no results. Quite a disappointment.
