Well.. it is post pandemic..... seems like the hotel is getting back on its feet. - May reservations through a 3rd party. As usual, I was given an interior room. These rooms without any access to daylight are dreary. - The restaurant is listed as being open until 10. I went to the rest at 9:15 pm and was told that "walk-ins" were no longer being seated. I was welcome to sit in the bar, but the bar was full. I was hungry and disappointed and settled for "take out" charcuterie. - Breakfast on Saturday Morning - Went to the dining room at 9:00 AM. Almost every table needed busing and there was little help. Everyone was kind and helpful but clearly, there was not enough staff. - The housekeepers were wonderful as were the valets and the front dest staff.

Although the WiFi was out and I was not notified prior to my visits the hotel team did an amazing job! The Front Desk manager Shawn was very kind and helpful dealing with the WiFi issue.

Room was better than average. Problems were 1) I requested an email receipt and a week has gone by and no receipt; 2) restaurant closed for breakfast.; and 3) personnel at front desk less than average.

We had a group of 30 folks staying at the hotel over Derby week. (5 nights) and the Service was Outstanding! I thought it might be loud due to the Busy weekend, but it was very quiet in our room. Even though there was a big party in the lowest level, we couldn't hear it. I forgot some clothes in my room and the staff found them and mailed them to me right away and at no charge! This was above and beyond the call of duty. We loved the smoothies the restaurant made.....I ordered one from the fitness room and the kitchen was too busy to get the call, so the front desk said they would order the smoothies for me and to come by to pick up at front desk. All this is so refreshing, given the hotel and hospitality bus. has been hit hard as far as staffing goes. The other BIG treat was meeting Mike, the owner. He spoke at our group dinner one evening and it was fun to hear his story how 21c came about! Thanks for the wonderful memories in Louisville!

I spent twenty years of my career in the hotel business including ten as CEO of a hotel company, so I am a bit picky. Our stay overall was fine; we had come to experience the 21c and the Proof on Main restaurant as both were touted as the best in Louisville. The art display aspect was excellent and interesting. Our room was fine with a couple minor items: the cover was missing on one of the two sprinkler heads, exposing the hole in the wall, and the shower door design is quite poor--no matter how careful we were, water got all over the floor. Do you have many leaks on the floor below? As to Proof on Main, we felt it has been living off its reputation lately. The bar area was excellent with good inventory and staff. The dining experience was less than stellar. They claimed to be trying a new menu but when we offered some feedback on it the staff didn't seem to care. An appetizer was difficult to eat---hard crust bread difficult to cut and pre cut pieces to large to easily eat. Main courses were not great. Pork dish too rare and bland presentation. Not a bad restaurant overall, just very expensive for what we got.

I am sorry to see that this stay was not up to par and I remember the call about the light. I checked out log and it looks like it took multiple trips to the room to see the flashing effect and once the problem was identified the light ballast was replaced. We take any pest comments extremely serious and once we learned of your comments we paid for a full room inspection, from a professional 3rd party vendor Ecolab. There was no findings of any kind and I would be happy to provide the report to directly if you would like to see it. Our relationship with our guests is of paramount importance. Hostess in restaurant refused to seat us claiming every table was booked. Restaurant was at least half empty. We ate in bar and when we left there were many open tables. Fact that we were hotel guests didn’t matter.

We had a wonderful stay at the 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville. We stayed in the Cyclone Room and it was like nothing we have seen before. The entire hotel has fun features (stop in the bathroom off of the lobby). I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Under normal circumstances this would be a purely positive review. We arrived Sunday, 9/26. Check-in was great and dinner at Proof was spectacular! We were in town for my wife's brain surgery/procedure and anticipated checking out Tuesday morning, 9/28. Unfortunately, there were some complications and I had to call from the hospital to ask to extend our stay a day. Here's where it went off the rails: Our rate for Sunday was $199, for Monday $249. The person said, "Yes, I can extend your stay, but the rate might be different." My interpretation of "might be different" is that it would likely go up, but "might" implies not by much. I asked about hospital stay rates (Hilton is very generous in this regard at many locations) and the answer was no. Ultimately had to extend the stay again one more night, no mention of rates. Checked out, Did not receive a paper copy even though gentleman said he could, but it was purely emailed instead. No problem. So what was the "might be a different rate"? $379 per night. Of course there is no recourse, but I did feel duped. Had I know, I would have simply checked out Tuesday morning as planned and found a less expensive place near the hospital in Brownsboro, given we weren't really getting to enjoy the room anyway; basically just store our luggage. What can you do? Life goes on, but I am soured towards the brand.

Found this hotel on our trip across the country--from California to DC. Both art lovers with little time to stop at a museum, this hotel concept was intriguing and did not disappoint. We loved the diversity of artists and media in the exhibit. The guest accommodations were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Proximity to the waterfront was a plus.
