Property is right at the Penang Beach. It was nice to walk down the beach in the morning. I am thankful to the hotel for recognising Accor Status and upgrading the room with welcome letter and some amenities too. What can be improved is the the staff. Training them with check in procedures,despite me who had already paid by Accor Points and exact amount due was mentioned they charged excess amount due to some wrong manual calculation. Again next day before checkout I called up front desk for assistance on some details about ferry service, to which the operator on the other side seamed to be least interested in helping but quick to disconnect the call. Atvthe time of check out I met the same lady who I spoke on phone, again a hurried tone.. so clearly its a Training issue. SO concerned department may take a note.

I booked 2 rooms at Mercure Penang. My overall stay was okay, but the check-in process could definitely be improved. Upon arrival, there were 2 guests ahead of me and it took longer than expected to receive my room keys. Aside from that, the hotel itself was decent.
