Came with wife, 16 year-old and 4 year-old daughters on a Sunday in September and stayed for three nights. Check in was smooth - was a little confused with the charge but nothing that the concierge can explain. Room was good, bathroom was clean - shampoo dispenser had a little bit of technical issue but was sorted out immediately. Access to the beach and the man-made island was amazing. Adult pool and kids' pool were side by side - easier monitoring. The children's pool needs to be covered a little bit to prevent the thorny seeds from the nearby trees (Australian pine - Wikipedia) blown into the pool by the wind - trust me, not a good feeling when they are stepped on. Breakfast is okay, but the staff at the omelette counter was kind enough to entertain my request for poached eggs. +ve clean room (requested for extra pillow and blanket with no issue) outstanding sea view requests when booking were provided nearby parking lots delicious cakes - especially durian cheese cake -ve faulty shampoo dispenser seeds in kids' pool

The hotel was well located for easy access to town and other visiting places. There is a inhouse restaurant and a bar to be served or a nearby Food Court just a 5 minutes walk. There is also a Night Market every Tuesday just a 10 minutes drive through Batu Ferringhi. The room are clean and neat. It is well taken care by the house keeper. I would recommend to anyone who want a quiet hotel with beach fronting.

Great View, Good Location, Poor Housekeeping Service

We booked 2 ocean view rooms for 4 nights and were impressed by the lovely sea view from the rooms. The view was equally lovely as you stepped into the open lobby with the fresh sea breeze blowing, view of the sea,beach and swaying coconut trees. It was serene and tranquil. Housekeeping standard was below par of a Mercure brand. We checked in at 830pm. One of the rooms was ready for guests but not the other. It was missing floor mat, hand and face towels. Comparing with the other room it was also missing hand towel origami. Not able to contact housekeeping after repeated calls. Had to call front desk for assistance. At times no reponse from front desk . Was surprised to be given a frayed edge floor mat later. Discovered 1 of the pillow case covers was torn and so was the sofa. The room looked dated. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days the tea and coffee satchets were not topped up, we had to ask for replenishment. Toilet bin was not emptied on the 3rd day. Obvious lack of manpower. Both our rooms were not made up in the 7 hours that we had left the hotel. In addition the previous guest locked the safe in the room, we had to wait an hour for the hotel staff to come to the room to help re-set it. We had to bring up our experiences to the attention of the Housekeeping Manager.
