Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Butler Service – Room 263 & 264 Dear Hotel Management Team, I am writing to formally file a complaint about the butler service provided by Ms. Nelly assigned to our rooms (Room 263 and Room 264), and to express our strong dissatisfaction with the hotel’s overall arrangement and service quality during our stay. We request an immediate investigation and a formal response from your side. First of all, during the initial room orientation on our arrival day, Butler Nelly was extremely perfunctory and failed to introduce any of the hotel’s complimentary and chargeable items and facilities clearly. As a result, we packed some personal belongings into the laundry bag when packing our luggage, only to be informed by Nelly afterwards that the laundry bag is chargeable at 45 US dollars. We had to unpack our entire suitcase to take out the laundry bag, which caused great inconvenience to our whole family. None of us heard any mention of the chargeable laundry bag during the initial orientation. We have traveled to 5 top resorts in the Maldives before, including Joali, Joali Being, Four Seasons, W Maldives, and St. Regis, and we have never encountered such an indifferent and unprofessional butler. From the day we arrived until now, Nelly has never taken the initiative to contact us, and her response to our messages is extremely slow and delayed. This butler service has seriously disappointed us and significantly lowered the overall grade and reputation of your hotel. We will truthfully share this unpleasant experience on major social media platforms after returning to our country. In addition, I personally witnessed at the Italian restaurant that Nelly never takes the initiative to greet our family, but she frequently approaches European and American guests at their tables to greet and chat with them actively, which we consider extremely inappropriate and discriminatory. Furthermore, we clearly noted in our reservation and informed your hotel department in advance that we require a Chinese-speaking butler. However, upon arrival, we were assigned a Russian butler who could not speak Chinese at all. The only Chinese-speaking butler was arranged for other guests. After multiple communications and negotiations, we were only assigned Nelly, who speaks very limited Chinese. We are extremely dissatisfied with this unreasonable and unprofessional arrangement by the hotel. We hope that the hotel will take this matter seriously, investigate all the above issues promptly, and provide us with a formal and satisfactory response as soon as possible. This is certainly not the impression we would want our guests to leave with. I acknowledge that this matter could have been handled more clearly and proactively by your Island Host, Ms. Nelly. As you had already raised this concern with our Front Office leadership at check-out, please be assured that we have treated your feedback with utmost seriousness. The matter has been addressed directly and firmly with Nelly, and we are using this as an opportunity to reinforce clearer communication standards across our Island Host team. As an international hospitality company, we welcome guests from all over the world, and our team is trained to provide consistent care and respect to every guest. I am truly sorry if at any point you felt otherwise. Please allow me to assure you that there was no intention of treating you differently. Your feedback regarding the clearer explanation of complimentary and chargeable items in the villa is well received. We fully agree that this information should be communicated more transparently during the initial villa orientation, and we will review our procedures to ensure improvements in this area. With regard to your request for a Chinese-speaking Island Host, while we do have team members with various language skills, it is not always possible to fulfill all language requests due to guest volume. Ms. Nelly was assigned as she is able to communicate in basic Chinese; however, we regret that this did not fully meet your expectations. We truly value your patronage and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Your feedback is constructive and helps us improve our service standards. We had a wonderful family vacation at this hotel and truly enjoyed every moment of our vacation. Everything was organized at a very high level, from the warm welcome by our butler Elza to the excellent service throughout our stay. The island is incredibly beautiful, with white sandy beaches, turquoise water, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Our villa was spacious, very clean, and well maintained, offering great comfort and privacy. Housekeeping was excellent, very attentive. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and always attentive to our needs, making us feel very welcome. We would like to highlight a barman named Leo - he was truly great at his work. The food was delicious, with a good variety of dishes, with a wide variety of options suitable for both adults and kids, and the quality was consistently high. With all my dietary preferences, I was able to find plenty of food to consume every day. Compliments to cooks! This vacation exceeded our expectations, and we were very sad to leave. Our daughter will miss very much one particular employee- a buggy driver named Wesley. He was amazing, she still talks about him and says that he is in her heart. We would happily return to this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Maldives.
