WiFi in the room just non existent had to go down to the lobby, only stayed 2 hours, room overlooked the motorway, shuttle to airport every 2 hours and nice touch with the chocolate hour. Wouldn’t stay again unless needed to be by the airport for an early flight.

Very poor "5 star" hotel experience

Even though it wasn't busy, the check-in was slow for little reason. We arrived during the complementary one hour afternoon chocolate buffet but were not invited to it, we had to ask. Our assigned room #3209 was an odd shape - we've had more attractive and functional rooms at Novotel - and while the curtains opened onto the view of a mosque across the way it was marred by a dirty, pitted wet concrete extension out the side of the hotel. The functionality of the room was extremely poor - especially for a 5 star - there was no luggage rack, the safe didn't work, both bedside reading lamps were broken and non-functional, one bathroom sink drain wouldn't open (so the sink was essentially non-functional) and the other sink drained VERY poorly, the lamp in the corner didn't work but upon further investigation it was actually the socket that was dead. All these thing we decided to live with for our one night stay but when I found the large body lotion bottle empty after my shower I decided to visit the manager. The on duty manger was quite accepting of my deficiency report and seemed to agree our experience was not one one should experience at a 5 star hotel. He offered to move us to a different room but I said no as it was too much effort for us to pack up and move for a one night stay. He did comp us dinner in the hotel restaurant which was just okay, and as others have said not even a glass of wine! He also said he would have someone come and fill the body lotion bottle but right up until the time we left next morning, that didn't happened. Next morning, the breakfast buffet was huge and busy. The was no table service for coffee (a 5 star expectation I would think?) and when I asked at the central station for a cappuccino I was told "Make an espresso with the machine, then add hot milk from the jug". When I replied, "That is not a cappuccino." They said, "Then order it, and pay for it." Overall, my impression is that as the occupancy was over 90% local population this hotel is operating and getting away with substandard accommodation, service and maintenance. It is not functioning as a 5 star and the international Movenpick brand is not being challenged or upheld. We did connect with the duty manager again before we left to update our list of grievances which he said would be 'passed on' and that we would receive a communication. We haven't of course but it's only been 30 days since the stay.... The proximity to KLIA was good, the room was clean, and the swimming pool and area was pleasant but otherwise I would not recommend this hotel.

Airport hotel stay -great value-free shuttle

Lovely relaxing hotel for an airport stay- I stayed for 2 days /1 night. Room was great just refurbished by the look of it with tea/ coffee / minibar / Tv with films. The staff were very pleasant and helpful breakfast was extensive with every type of food you can imagine ( Nb you will not find bacon as most places in Malaysia do not serve any pork) The swimming pool was great and there is a seperate womens pool too - tpwels provided. It is isolated next to a large mosque and the police station only. Its 30MYR ( about £5.50) for a grab taxi to the outlet mall nearby. The free shuttle to the airport runs 2 hourly and must be booked with the concierge so you need to contact them prior to collection from the airport (KLIA1 level one door 3 at the time of writing this ) and for your trip back too. The hotel is a dry hotel there is no alcohol for sale - not a problem for me but some other visitors were not as happy - there is mini fridge in the room so bring your own. For the chocoholics there a free chocolate hour every afternoon at 3pm - a great selection of movenpick chocs to indulge in . I would stay here again without a doubt , it was excellent value.

I’ve stayed here on numerous trips and always found it convenient due to the airport location and the rooms to be of quality. Unfortunately, during this stay, the room wasn’t as clean as expected. There were empty bottles thrown next to the Koran, which, even though not Muslim, is disrespectful. However, a basic clean would have picked up such. That said, I do like this place and the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming.

Second time here, second time loved it.

Second time in this hotel, love it. I think some of the comments are unfair. I mean if your main complaint is that you can not cope without alcohol for one night, jeez. Yes, it does market itself as a 'Muslim family' hotel but as a gay, western, non-Muslim male I have always been made to feel very welcome and have always felt very comfortable and noticed the clientele is a very mixed demographic, as is with any airport hotel. Pros: - Easy shuttle access to the airport (journey takes around 10/15min) arranged very easily direct with the concierge via Whatsapp. - The hotel is beautiful and quiet and serene. - My room was refurbished, definitely a newer vibe than when I stayed a couple years ago. - Food is restaurant is excellent, I had the 'malaysian satay' and 'seared tuna salad' both great. - A very nice swimming pool area. - Friendly and welcoming staff. Cons: - The wifi is slow. I had no issues logging on and staying logged on but you definitely won't be able to stream Netflix etc. - The shuttle bus whilst a great service generally only runs once every two hours - The gym could be better equipped. - Navigating the hotel can take a while due to the design of the building. For example not all lifts/elevators serve all floors and the room numbering can be a little confusing but simply ask one of the friendly staff for directions and you will be fine.
