I had a wonderful stay at Mövenpick Resort & Spa from the moment I arrived at Caticlan Airport. The Airport Representative was already there waiting for me, ensuring a seamless arrival experience. The transportation vehicle was in pristine condition, giving the impression that it was well-maintained. However, the scent inside the van was a bit too strong for my preference. Overall, the arrival experience was fantastic. Upon reaching the Welcome Center, I was warmly welcomed by the staff. Light refreshments were provided at the lounge on your own, although the experience could have been enhanced with lounge music or additional entertainment options such as a television for guests while waiting, aside from the available board games and sungka. The boat transfer was quick, and assistance upon arrival at the resort was smooth and well-coordinated. The check-in process was seamless. Although the resort was quite busy during my arrival early in the morning, the process was handled efficiently. Jewel from the Front Desk was especially helpful and provided me with sufficient information about the resort and its facilities since my rooms is not yet ready. Joy from the Front Desk as personally assisted me during my room check-in and provided a thorough orientation regarding the hotel facilities, amenities, and inclusions. The room was spacious and the bed was large enough to comfortably accommodate three adults. In fact, I had to place some of the extra pillows beside me while sleeping due to the generous size of the bed. In the afternoon, I tried to catch the sunset, but the cloudy weather led me to spend my time instead at Sol Marina Bar while enjoying the Cultural Performance. It was a wonderful initiative, especially for international guests who would appreciate experiencing Filipino culture. The following morning, I arrived early for breakfast and was impressed that all food selections were fully replenished - Ofcourse I was the second guest. The variety and selection of food were excellent. One area for improvement would be relocating cereals and some pastries inside the restaurant area, as birds were occasionally flying around the outdoor sections where these items were placed and staff presence was not always consistent. I also encountered a minor concern with Mia regarding my table assignment, but it was addressed promptly and professionally while Garry made sure that my table are neat and cleaned every after I finish a plate. During my stay, I had the opportunity to enjoy the beach area and swimming pools. The resort pool is ideal for families, offering a spacious layout, a jacuzzi area, private spots for relaxation, and designated areas suitable for children. Other facilities, such as the 24-hour gym, Kids Club, and Souvenir Shop located below the Reception area, added great value to the overall guest experience. While Sauna comes with additional price, could have been included in the stay for guest considering the rate of the rooms being paid. One of the highlights of my stay was experiencing the resort’s signature Chocolate Hour. The selection of sweet treats was enjoyable and offered a good variety. However, the setup could be improved by providing a more spacious buffet arrangement, as guests tended to crowd around the selection area. Overall, my stay at Mövenpick Resort & Spa was truly memorable. I am grateful to Ivan who arranged a transportation for me to my next accommodation despite checking out late from my room. The warmth of the staff, quality of service, and resort facilities made my experience exceptional, and I look forward to returning in the future.
