The location is absolutely stunning. The area is beautiful, very quiet, and the building itself looks impressive. Unfortunately, the overall experience is disappointing. This was our second stay, and there has been no noticeable improvement since the first visit. The rooms are severely outdated. Everything feels worn and neglected. The kettle looks unhygienic and unsafe to use, with visible residue inside. Coffee is limited to basic instant sachets, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this standing, especially when even modest hotels in similar areas provide pod based machines. The terrace furniture is old, fragile, uncomfortable, and looks cheap. Some of the lights appear unsafe to plug in. The bed is acceptable but not as comfortable as expected at this level. Pillows and bed sheets feel low quality. The biggest issue remains the noise. There is virtually no sound insulation. You hear other guests and the cleaning staff as if they were inside your room. Doors slam, staff speak loudly, and there is no effort to maintain a calm and refined atmosphere. This was already a problem during our first stay, and it is exactly the same now. Whether you pay a premium rate or stay in a very cheap hotel, the experience feels identical in terms of noise and overall standard. The breakfast buffet was also disappointing this time. The quality was very average, nothing stands out, and everything feels bland and not homemade. What a shame. The reception and restaurant staff are polite and professional, but good staff alone do not create a good overall experience. The restaurants and the beautiful surroundings of the property are the highlights. The food is excellent, the desserts are homemade and very good, and the ambiance is pleasant and quiet. No loud music, no intrusive staff constantly asking questions, which makes dining genuinely enjoyable. This is a very strong positive point. Would I come back again. No. After two stays, there has been absolutely no improvement, exactly the same experience both times. There are similar options around Khao Yai for the same price. The property clearly needs major refurbishment, including new furniture, repainting, and replacement of outdated equipment. There is also a clear need to train the behind the scenes staff such as cleaning staff, porters, and drivers on how to behave in a high class hotel. No loud talking, no banging, no slamming doors, no shouting, and behavior that matches the standing of the location. It might have been an excellent hotel ten to fifteen years ago, but it feels like nothing has been properly renewed since then. As long as people keep paying, the owners clearly do not care. I will just not be part of that anymore.

overall it was okay however since there were many people at that time, the staff couldn’t handle that well and should have been better trained The food was too slow to be served.

We liked the restaurant where we had our dinner. We also liked walking around the large outdoor area and particulary liked the animal-feeding activity. However, the bathroom experience was not satisfacctory. Shower water was either too hot or too cold and could not be adjusted to a desired warm temperature. The tube connecting to the shower head was slightly leaking. Checking in was a bit confusing as the guard did not allow our car (containing our luggage) to stop in front of the reception hall.

Movenpick Hotel Review: A Family Stay near Ozone, Khao Yai We stayed at Melvin Pick during the busy New Year's holiday season for a two-night family trip. Thanks to our Accor membership, we were nicely upgraded from a standard executive room to a two-bedroom pool villa. Location and Venue: The hotel is located within the large, externally-owned Ozone development in Khao Yai, which acts as a general venue for various activities. This area is quite popular, attracting visitors who often pay an entrance fee, primarily for the golf course, petting zoo, and dining, as well as for photo opportunities. While the overall structure is probably over ten years old, it is kept very clean. Accommodation – Two-Bedroom Pool Villa: Our villa felt more like a literal home, complete with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a private pool. While clean and functional, the design is somewhat dated, and it is not a modern-style accommodation. It was, however, warm, homey, and comfortable, and we slept very well. A minor issue was the slightly low water pressure in the shower. The private pool, though a bit cool in winter, was nice, but caution is advised as the pool tiles had slightly sharp edges. Dining: The hotel features two dining areas, including a very nice Thai/International Italian restaurant with a beautiful view. I highly recommend visiting the Italian restaurant before sunset. The food was well-prepared, with very fresh vegetables. Their tenderloin steak, in particular, was exceptionally good. Breakfast is a standard international buffet. While offering a nice, large variety, it is generally on par with what you'd expect at most chain hotels. Facilities and Activities: The hotel boasts good facilities, including a fitness center, a large swimming pool (though rarely used during our winter stay), and the renowned golf course. Given the location in Ozone, there are many activities available. During the winter festival, the main grounds were beautifully decorated with display lights and even featured a small beer garden. Service and Logistics: The reception and most of the staff were very friendly and provided good service. Guests should be aware that a golf cart is necessary to travel around the extensive hotel grounds. Housekeeping was friendly but was a bit slow to get to us and seemed rushed, resulting in a less-than-thorough cleaning. There is no turn-down service offered. Overall Impression: This is a very nice, family-friendly hotel. The atmosphere is heavily tailored towards families, often with husbands utilizing the golf facilities while wives and children enjoy the other amenities. It has a distinctly Thai style and ambiance, appealing to both locals and some foreigners, though it is slightly less accessible than some other areas of Thailand. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would certainly consider returning.
