Paul saved the day!

Stayed for one night due to a work visit. I’ve stayed here several times before and it has always been good. This time there were 3 of us and when we ordered our food in the bar area we advised we needed to pay separately but would like our starters to come out together and then the mains together and all at the same time. Well one persons starter and main came out, along with another main, and then there was a delay for the rest of the food, and honestly the food was disappointing as it was cold and didn’t look cooked. We mentioned this and one of the managers Paul came and spoke to us and turned a negative experience into a positive one and we want to pass our thanks on. Otherwise The rooms were lovely, and the beds very comfortable and breakfast was great quality. Yes we had an issue but please don’t let that put you off going here as these things can happen anywhere but it’s how they are dealt with which is important. And this is also why I wanted to share as things cant be perfect 100% of the time but when they are dealt with how they were, we wouldn’t have any issue staying here again

Stayed here for 2 nights for a romantic get away with my fiancé and facilities, food and staff were amazing. Big shout out to Elise for making our room and weekend perfect and for Jobish for all food and drink requirements, made the stay 10 out of 10 - it’s the little things that go a long way and make a potential good stay into a great stay!

It was an excellent stay with everything made so special by the staff. My mum had emailed prior to let them know it was my graduation and Paul had left a card and cake in the room. He had upgraded our room to a beautiful suite. Whilst playing Poole on the free unlocked table, Elise also spoke to us and gave us some great recommendations for local walks. Paul gave us a great recommendation for a pub after graduation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on friendly staff alone. However the grounds were also lovely with a pond and greenery surrounding it. The rooms ere lovely and warm with comfy pillows too. There was lots of parking available on site too! Julia made sure our rooms were very clean and tidy.

This hotel was excellent The staff were brilliant They all made us feel so welcome Nothing was too much trouble From the maintenance staff to the manager they were all First rate We had a deal for dinner bed and breakfast got two nights The food was lovely especially breakfast The room was a little tired But it was clean well equipped and warm and spacious I would definitely go back Thank you so much for making our stay so happy

Absolutely beautiful venue for a short break. Perfectly located for the City and the Peak District. Staff were brilliant - nothing too much trouble. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Spa was adequate although could do with a bit of TLC.
