I travelled with my mum, and we had no idea what to expect. We were given such a lovely welcome by Glynnis and Craig and quickly felt at home. The rooms are wonderful, food really good and the staff just lovely. We went on our first game drive and were then hooked! Cilliè was so knowledgeable and if he got fed up with our endless questions, he never showed it! All the attention to detail (eg. decanter of port in the room, a fire in the lounge when it was chilly, a brai for all guests one evening, coffee, sundowners and nibbles on the game drives) whilst making it look effortless is a real art. There will be many a day to come when I wish all I have to worry about is whether I see zebras, rhinos or baboons when I open my bedroom curtains! The Founders experience will stay with us forever.

A little bit late writing this review, but better late than never as they say! Our stay was fantastic (we stayed for 3 nights), from the moment we arrived until the morning we left, we were very well taken care of. The staff at Founders Lodge are very good, nothing is too much trouble and you never had the feeling of being rushed. It was all very relaxing. The food was excellent, especially the braii (the chef and team excelled themselves) and the locations to eat change daily, with the most beautiful views across the reserve. Every game drive was amazing. We saw so many birds and animals everyday (nobody can deny the beauty of a water buffalo!). Our Ranger, Cillie, was incredibly knowledgeable, from learning about tracking when we spent time tracking a leapard’s paw prints to understanding how an elephant is feeling just by how its ears move. It was an incredible unforgettable experience everyday. Thank you for giving us a beautiful suite (no 3, opposite the watering hole), the sunrises from our room were gorgeous and a beautiful start to each day. The view of the watering hole and all the animals that visited it was lovely to watch. We were addicted to going to the hide and to get up close to the animals drinking from the watering hole…now home, I love watching the live feed of it on You Tube. If you are thinking of staying here, please do! You will have a wonderful time! Myself and my husband would like to thank Glynnis and her team for a very lovely stay and to Cillie (our Ranger), thank you, the drives were amazing (and the views for the Sunrisers and Sundowners beautiful). Une expérience incroyable! C’était notre premier safari en famille et je crois que nous aurons du mal à faire mieux. Tout est parfait à Founder Lodges: l’accueil et la gentillesse de l’équipe qui mettent un point d’honneur à rendre votre séjour unique, les chambres cosy vous mettent dans l’atmosphère avec une vue exceptionnelle sur la réserve, le côté intime de cet hôtel composé de seulement 7 chambres. Dès le premier Game Drive, nous en avons pris plein les yeux: lions, cheetahs, éléphants, girafes, … et tout cela a seulement quelques mètres de nous. Glynnis et son équipe ont un sens aigu de l’accueil et de l’hospitalité, et du petit détail qui rend votre séjour incroyablement agréable. Si vous devez faire un safari quelque part, c’est définitivement ici.

Lá já estava pronto o bercinho da minha bebê. Quarto amplo e limpo. A noite bastante silencioso. Atendimento excelente e personalizado! Ficamos duas noites, na primeira noite jantamos em uma sala reservada somente para nós, o jantar era composto por uma entrada, prato principal e sobremesa, comida deliciosa, inclusive fizeram uma comidinha especial para o meu bebê de 1 ano e três meses. Na segunda noite, o jantar foi no pátio, eles tiveram o cuidado de colocar a nossa mesa na varanda para que a minha bebê não pegasse sereno, porém, ela estava cansadinha e começou a chorar muito, meu marido e eu pedimos para terminar o jantar no quarto, quando vimos eles montaram a mesa com tudo dentro do nosso quarto, fiquei admirada com o cuidado e capricho que eles tiveram para conosco. Minha bebê não pode fazer o Safari pela idade, porém eles logo providenciaram um pequeno passeio para que ela pudesse ver os bichinhos, de carro, aos redores do hotel. Gostei muito do lugar e principalmente do atendimento, recomendo com certeza pois é uma experiência única!!!

Cela a été pour nous une expérience extraordinaire. Pour notre premier safari, cela met la barre très haut. C’est une petit maison au cœur d’une réserve. Il y a peu de chambres ce qui rend l’expérience très intime, les employés sont très chaleureux et prêt à aider. Nous avons été très bien accueillis tout le long du séjour. Nous avons eu des réponses et toutes nos demandes et bien plus, ils ont su nous surprendre et rendre ce séjour magique. Nous sortions en voiture dans la réserve deux fois par jour avec un ranger qui s’y connaissait très bien et a pu nous apprendre énormément sur la faune et la flore locale. La chambre est géniale et donne sur la réserve… L’expérience vaut vraiment le détour, vous serez surpris chaque jour et toute l’équipe vous fera sentir comme chez vous
