Very nice hotel, convenient to Parliament building, some of the museums. Good breakfast buffet; or order off the breakfast menu from the rooftop restaurant. However, note that tour groups are run out of the hotel, and there isn't enough room in the lobby for the number of people and bags simultaneously there.

There are many nice hotels in this area. We're loyal to Sofitel, so we picked this hotel. In retrospect, I would stay at one of the nearby luxury hotels next time. This place was fine, the location is great. Staff is friendly. The overall ambiance is like an airport hotel though. Room was comfy. No views, except of a derelict industrial building next door. Again, nothing bad, just that there are other more luxurious hotels right in the next block.

We arrived at our hotel on our first day in Greece for a double celebration - our daughter’s graduation with her Doctorate and our 30 th wedding anniversary. The staff were warm, gracious, and ready to help us celebrate. The hotel is beautiful, centrally located and quite well appointed. The continental breakfast was world class, and we were sorry to leave when it was time to continue our vacation in Greece.

Biggest regret in staying at The Capital Athens was that we couldn’t stay for longer !!!!!! Outstanding !!!!! Our go to Hotel in Athens from this point onwards and I will certainly be allowing more days in Athens because of the service of The Capital. I don’t know where to start, from the Rooms, to the Linen, to Housekeeping all outstanding. The roof top bar and Restaurant on the 10th and 11th floor is a special area to enjoy the site of Athens by day and by night. The food was well presented, fresh and on any very good restaurant. An absolute standout all around, in fact we stayed in Athens on our arrival to Greece at another establishment where we were disappointed and after choosing The Capital were concerned on reliving the same experience but on entering we immediately thought why did we not choose The Capital on our arrival to Greece. THE TEAM So now to our arrival, we were initially greeted by young George or Giorgos who came across like he’d known us for years. I am not a person to be fussed over but this was a kind, respectful and caring greeting. I wish Giorgos a very good future if he decided to remain in the industry as he has the qualities to move forward in this industry. Then we were greeted by Pavlos at the front desk, at this point it only gets better. We flew in from London after staying at another outstanding world class Hotel The Savoy, I say this because now we may not have the exact surroundings of the Savoy but we are being treated like we arrived at The Savoy and that is something to say in the way Pavlos checked us in. I have mentioned only 2 members of the team but I witnessed the same caring from other members of the team such as Concierge and the Day Time team that greets you on arrival. I only wish I can name all over them individually. HOUSEKEEPING Brought back very recent memories of The Savoy where even though we are extremely tidy, would make you feel bad by not taking the time to collect your USB Cable but wrap in up for you near the side table. Or laying out small hand towels in the bathroom to have your bathroom amenities to sit on the small towels rather than on the marble bench. My comment to The Savoy was, that they are in an industry that you can make people live special moments and in some cases dreams. Well our experience at The Capital was up there with the best. ROOFTOP BAR AND RESTAURANT Demi, The PA to The GM talks about the hotel which such passion and care it was amazing, introducing herself and explaining the history of The Capital in fact she got my attention immediately because she had my Granddaughters name and I was never going to forget Demi’s name. Eleftheria in the bar, Alexandro on level 11 with his recommendation for dinner and interaction with guests, outstanding. The view from Level 10 and 11 is second to none as we have also stayed at The GB in the past and although the view there is amazing, personally we found the view at The Capital slightly better. In summary I always said in my line of work, I can steer the ship in the right direction but it was my team that made me look good in the end. The Manager and Team that stand behind Management at The Capital are all on that same ship and I hope to join them again on our next vacation to Greece. Thank you for ending this holiday to Greece on a memorable high.
