Shame there's no customer service

Stay was fine. Spent 3 weeks trying to get anyone from the hotel to respond to either email or phone calls to retrieve item left in the hotel which is still there as tracked electronically. No one responds which is very disappointing as it mars the entire experience.

After staying in many Hotels / Resorts… and supporting ACCOR as a member for many years, I found it interesting that management feel that they need to make you / us feel so awkward…. So we book the most expensive room offered, a one bed, spa unit, with own plunge pool…. Nice, BUT, we find that the entry is shared with a studio type room which also shares the outdoor patio area AND the plunge pool. Clearly the motivation is that it would be the perfect family two bedroom unit with a pool, I get that. What I don’t get is why they don’t have a policy to allocate either 1 x one bedroom unit (stand alone), OR a studio unit (stand alone) therefore giving guests some privacy, not allocate two guests to share the same space, making the patio and pool area very awkward, particularly when you are paying top dollar. The space makes for a perfect 2 bedroom apartment… not 2 shared spaces.

The 1 bedroom apartment was good, but a bit out of Kingsclff - need a vehicle. The BIG negative was the infestation of cockroaches - even in the Refrigerator - some were frozen DEAD!!! This apartment was a 4 star if you don't worry about cockroaches. Our friends were in a 2 bedroom apartment, with plunge pool - this too was exceptionally FILTHY - Grease dripping onto bench top from the exhaust fan & the DISHWASHER STUNK. Had to get cleaners in to CLEAN - UP these issues. Cleaners obviously NOT doing their job - just changing the linen!! Both bookings were booked through Kingscliff Accommodation which we will NEVER do again - go direct to the Resort!!

Excellent with friendly service.

Wonderful resort for a work conference. The board working & friendly staff are amazing, special mention to Dean Wright. This team puts the term hospitable back into hospitality. Although on a work conference managed to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and awesome location. Service at the local restaurants was also excellent.

I hate having to write reviews but I'm disappointed. I had booked Peppers after many years of it being on my list of must-stays with friends giving positive reviews. We stayed at Mantra many years ago and we had wished we could afford to stay at Peppers. Now, as a 17yr anniversary treat, I booked a 3 night stay. It seems no updating or proactive maintaining of the resort has happened since it opened. The 1bed Spa room room not cleaned well. Surfaces grimy, mirrors filmy, floor sandy and the shower head has been running water/dripping all night keeping us awake (ill let the staff know about it). Items like lounge, mirror, and furnishings are all scuffed and aged too. The staff at front desk appear to be pretty young and didn't provide us with any information about what-to-do around town, where the hotel facilities are, where the main restaurant is, where to eat etc. We've been asking locals since. Someone else commented the place is becoming 'run-down' and i would agree. The description of the hotel says "Peppers Salt Resort & Spa is located on absolute oceanfront only 15 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport". it really isnt. Its a block back from the beach, about an 8 min walk, and we keep getting locked out when using the access gate. Small things but no minibar as advertised, lack of clear signage around hotel making it hard to find things/places, and lack of staff overall. Wish i had more positive things to say. Its still a beautiful pool and entry way but beyond that, very average.
