NEVER, EVER HOST A WEDDING HERE !!!

My daughter paid this venue over $26,000 to host her wedding here. The wedding was booked 18 months in advance, yet we only learned the fireworks wouldn't be allowed as we entered the reception. These fireworks cost $1,000 !!! And this was just ONE of the team at Mantra- Salt's faux pars for such a prestigious, and memorable time. The bar man at the reception really was the tipping point! Several times throughout the evening he decided to close the bar, and cut everyone off after they had been paid for their upgraded drinks package. We had guests consistently coming up to my husband and I complaining about being refused a drink. This included high profile media people, and business owners. All of which have never been "cut off" before. It was highly embarrassing for us as a family. This same bar man got into a 'stare off' with me. To the point I actually asked him if he was "playing with me" This was in front of the assistant manager on shift. Until the bar was closed (by you) there was NO WATER AVAILABLE. I went to the bar several times to request water and was provided 1 glass at a time. Surey water should have been on every table?! RSA 101 Many guests had traveled from the UK to be there, including my 76-year-old in-laws, who were also refused a drink! On the morning of the wedding we requested additional champagne flutes. We were told they were coming...they never arrived! After the nuptials there was a ridiculously long wait for guests to have a drink. Up to 30 minutes, because they only had 1 bar staff for 80 guests! We have video footage of 2 bridesmaid being threatened to be "kicked out" because they were on the stage. The timings were out of sync, which meant the brides saw each other as they made their ways to the aisle. On top of the $26k they were paid for the wedding, Mantra-Salt also had a number of guests stay with you for 1 - 3 nights. Nice little earner for Mantra... Unfortunately, due to the treatment we all received by their barman, we all chose to spend our time and money at other establishments close by. Check in was a nightmare. So unorganized! Everyone was exhausted by the time they eventually got into their very old, and dated rooms. I met with the manager, Micky and a witness he brought at 10AM the following day to voice these concerns. This was a month ago - and I have still not received a response! Over priced Outdated Unprofessional DO YOURSELVES A FAVOUR AND CELEBRATE & STAY ELSEWHERE !!!!!

Won't be staying again.

Mantra at Salt Beach. I have stayed there twice a year for the past 5 years but this was the worst experience 1. Signage from the basement unclear which lift to use. Also a signage back to lobby is very poor. 2. No restaurant. 3. They have a bar that is never open in the evening and only occasionally for morning coffee. As an Accor member my friend was given free drinks tickets, but Mantra can't redeem them due to no working bar, and I was told I could redeem them at the hotel up the road. 4. My air conditioner wasn't working I froze all night even when I turned it up to 29 centigrade. 5. The TV wouldn't turn on in the morning. 6. There is a step into the bathroom about 3 centimetres high which was extremely dangerous. Trip hazard!! I don't know how they could be classed a 4 star resort. Way too expensive for what they offer.

Came down to share two nights with a friend. Have stayed before and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This time, we were told to get our drinks from Peppers. Why not supply service to the guests that are paying to stay at Mantra???? If we wanted drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning at Peppers, I would have booked in at Peppers - or somewhere else.

Salt beach great relaxing spot

Nice place and great for relaxing.some nice shops and good choice of restaurants with a Few KMs . apartment was clean and nice space like the pool side view with sound of beach .Area is for relaxing and great walks though not an activity hub if you want lot around you. A few KMs walk will get you into Kingscliff north or head south to Cabarita beach .Bike rides / walks are great with good paths to shops. Nice beaches and good facilities make it a great place to stay.

Very disappointing for this chain

This hotel room was so disappointing for us as we stay at lots of Mantras and are Accor members. Do not pick a Room, go for a Suite. Our Room was poorly designed with a massive bathroom and very small living area. No separate chairs to sit on and nowhere to put our suitcases. The towels are rubbish quality as are stingy toiletries and the tea and coffee supplies. The TV remote didn't work, no restaurants open. We complained but to move would have cost us more, but the hotel was half empty. Very disappointing from this chain. The outside amenities are fantastic.
