Looks can be so deceiving, so do not rely on the pictures as depicted on their website ! First impressions, quick easy check in, parking, the great view from the level 14 apartment, and then the disappointment quickly followed. Very poor housekeeping, followed by the very dated and run down appearance of the apartment. Not a vacuum cleaner or mop in site to allow an interim spruce by us up during our week's stay. Here you are certainly paying for the beach front position and views , not the standard that one would expect at $914.00 a night. I understand it was peak season but very disappointing, would not recommend nor would I stay here ever again. At reception I did let them know that they should notify the owner that he should update the apartment if he expects them to let his unit at those rates. They really should not let this apartment until the it has been bought up to a reasonable standard.

Very friendly and efficient staff. A lovely welcome on checking in. We chose a renovated room with sea views. Fabulous views out to sea, the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Although it was a renovated room it still needed new carpet and did look pretty tired. Very convenient location next to Coles supermarket and some green restaurants. There was a lot of road noise when you he’d the balcony doors open. Would’ve been nice to have had a Nespresso coffee machine but otherwise had everything you needed.

Do not stay here!! Dirty, tired and over priced!!

Definitely do not recommend this accommodation!! We will never stay at another Mantra after this one!! We paid $900 per night for a family of 5. When making the booking I thought this was outrageously expensive but we were so excited to stay somewhere that must be totally amazing to think they are worthy of that price tag. We couldn’t have been more wrong!! On arrival there was the previous persons stool still in the toilet!! The rooms are old and run down and not at all clean. For $900 per night they can’t even give you a clean towel or service anything, not even a free bottle of water!! There are 4 lifts which kept breaking down and it wasn’t uncommon to have to wait 10mins or more for the lift, many of the guests were getting so frustrated with this. The indoor pool was so filthy the kids refused to get in it and they will usually swim anywhere!! The outdoor pool is small and very tired, nothing like the pictures make it look. The only positive was the location, so it is easy to get away from the sad accomodation for the day!! And although it was a lovely location, it certainly doesn’t warrant a $900 cost for a family of 5. We are really disappointed and cannot believe they charge so much for what they offer, this really needs to be reviewed!! There were some beautiful places around us, save your money and look elsewhere!!

Complete premium centrally located almost resort type accommodation

Stayed here in July with 3 others. The resort is at the Western end of the Esplanade the main tourist drag across the road from a top class surf beach cleaned and patrolled. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom self contained with full kitchen and full laundry. The initial supplies are sparse but these are not in the deal. The equipment is complete but I have yet to find an apartment where they supply sharp carving knives. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was very clean. The premises are essentially next door to a Cole’s supermarket with a dedicated entrance. We were on the 14th floor with a great view of the ocean. There are 2 pubs downstairs both of which provided decent albeit rather uncomplicated meals. There are local restaurants and take aways supplemented by the surf club restaurant. When booking you are best served by NOT using a booking app and instead going directly to the premises. You get a better deal and better accommodation. Apart from the beach there are 2 pools a gym 24 hour concierge and enthusiastic helpful staff. There is parking reserved underneath but very limited street parking otherwise. Not the cheapest but very good value for what you pay.

Great location across the road from the beach - views from the rooms facing the water are lovely. Plenty of restaurants and cafes right downstairs. The hotel itself is extremely tired, bland and rooms have absolutely no appeal. Front desk service was poor - after check in we received a call to say that we were in the wrong room due to a computer glitch.
