Definitely a dated property with bare bone rooms. Nothing luxurious but would certainly be great for a family beach trip. Laundry was in each unit which was convenient. Note the WiFi was unreliable. However it was clean, the staff was wonderful, and the location can’t be beat!

Three Star if your lucky! Wow I had to read some of the other reviews to see why my view is so different and the only 2 explanations are that 1. Due to your owner business model no two rooms are alike or 2. Customers are being effected by some kind of Munchausen syndrome convincing themselves it 'wasn't that bad' rather than admit they got spun. So firstly I love Accor properties and it was the only reason (maybe last) we booked. The NZ hotels are all high quality. Now also, I fully know that what you seen online isn't always what you get if its a managed resident type hotel with most owned by individuals.But come on? The 3 bedroom apartment looked nothing like it and was still wearing its same contents from when it was built. Got to be 20 odd years. Ok so the room was basic and worn out - check. But no excuse for air vents full of black mould or whatever it was, light shades full of flies, badly carried out (by the owner?) repairs on the door frames, ancient shower cubicles all moudly (But there floor to ceiling tiles in your pictures lol. Its so tragic as im writing its like a comedy. So in summary Im disappointed Accor put their brand on this to be honest and its a bit milking the cash cow. Ever heard of a contract to make your owners actually fix up their side? Other than this the staff were friendly when needed, the pool and sauna was great other than having to still ask for Gym and Sauna keys despite it being behind a swipe card door. Reply if you want but i know its just the set up you have to deal with...probably some false advertising going on with the room also.

Regarding the condition of the room, we do have varying standards due to the different ownerships of the apartments, and we are continuously working with owners to encourage upgrades where necessary. However, the cleanliness and maintenance concerns you raised—like the air vents and light fixtures—are absolutely unacceptable. Did you happen to report these issues to reception during your stay? We always want to ensure that guests are comfortable, and we would have been happy to either address the issues or offer a room move had we known. I’d like to clarify that the images of rooms on our website represent the standard and layout of the apartment types available, but as you mentioned, due to individual ownership, there can be differences in décor. I will also pass your comments regarding the gym and sauna access on to our team for review, as we aim to streamline these processes wherever possible. Very happy, we had a slight issue the first day, staff member Debbie went over and above upgrading us to a beautiful apartment with ocean views and whales galore… Centrally located with great cafe next door….. Highly recommend, we’ll be back!!!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view (floor 12 room 1) The apartment was very dated and old looking. At $400 for 1 night we expected more luxury than old. There was a weird smell in the hallway by the lifts and also a weird smell in the apartment itself. If we had of walked in off the street and viewed the apartment prior to booking and paying we would of gone somewhere else. The pool at the complex was its only saving grace.

This was our second visit to Mantra Coolangatta and again we enjoyed our stay in such a great location - lovely beaches, walkway, and all amenities very close by, not to mention the bonus whale watching from our balcony. On arrival we were disappointed in the apartment assigned 2 us - it seemed rather gloomy & there was a slight odor that appeared 2 b coming from the laundry.  Our concerns were very promptly dealt with by management and we were fortunate to be relocated to another apartment, which more than met our expectations.  While we are aware that the apartments are all individually owned, and therefore not of the same standards, we feel the units need to reflect the prices paid, and we didn't feel that was the case in the first instance.  Having said that, the faclity itself is very well appointed and maintained with a beautiful pool and spa area, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Also there is underground parking on site. A lovely welcoming reception area and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.  Special thanks to Laura, Lisa & Thomas for ensuring we had another lovely stay.  We are returning  in March and look forward to visiting again.
