Nice property and very helpful staff. Thierry the concierge and Lou at reception deserve particular praise. There were a couple of niggles, being a used wine glass in the room when we checked in and I still have not received the invoice for my stay one week after check out despite sending a reminder.

We were extenely pleased with the car service that picked us up and dropped us off at Barbery airport! The gentlemen were a delight to chat with. The room was lovely. It is a shame though that there are no dairy free options at breakfast (no vegan yogurt and very few fruits), the gluten free options were limited too. Would totally recommend for a weekend getaway!

I had made this reservation 2 months in advance and had several email communications in which I had requested a deluxe room with 2 beds. Upon arrival we were shown a nice room, but it had one bed. So then they moved us to another room which did not seem as nice and the only window was a little porthole window on the 3rd floor. The bed was still set up as one bed, so someone had to come later to take it apart and remake it as 2 beds. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while and was dusty. It was frustrating that after trying so hard to prepare for this trip and make sure that our requests were known, it seems like they didn't pay any attention at all when assigning our room, and then we were downgraded. I really only stayed here because I knew that the air conditioning worked well compared to some other hotels I had stayed at in Troyes. However some newer hotels also have great air conditioning and are centrally located so I'm just not sure I'd bother staying here again. Great service and responding to problems is what sets truly great hotels apart and this hotel did not live up to it's star status. For reference we have stayed at Aman hotels across the globe, Four Seasons etc, so we didn't expect the Licorne to be at that level but some recompense for not having the right room for us would have been nice.

Personal is great, room was lovely and clean but the restaurant/ bar is not acceptable. We arrived one evening and wanted to order some food and deserts and mosof the things on the menu were not available. There was only one option for desert ! Breakfast buffet is also poor, no corner for eggs or fresh pancakes - it was more like a 3* star buffet.

Excellent location , nice room. But management needs to get a grip - our room was still not made up by 4pm in spite of reminding them twice , we were then told that the cleaner had gone home early because she was tired . Very slow service in bar in spite of the fact that it was empty . When we left, the three staff on reception sat and watched while I walked past them three times with our suitcases , no offer of help. The breakfast room is just a space at the end of the bar, tiny tables cramped together , very little natural light. And breakfast was basic, had to ask both mornings for water to be refiles, bread to be refilled … overall a very disappointing experience .

Lovely location in Troyes. Room was very nice - good size, very clean, excellent bathroom and facilities. The breakfast however was really quite poor. 'American buffet' was described to us. Very basic produce, inedible scrambled eggs, pastries looked reheated. The hot selection was very poor. I was told their was a chef and his team looking after the cooking, but I doubt this.

I did not give a "10" which this hotel should get. but i took a package that included a bottle of Champagne, and i did that to surprise my wife. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the Champagne was not there. i went to the reception to ask, and it took about 45 min to arrive. It is not a huge deal, but for the standing of the hotel, and the price of this package, this would have deserved to be treated more seriously.

The five star experience isn't there unfortunately - it really should have no be sporting more than 4. The hotel seems to quickly have lost the grandeur it had when it first opened. The staff is polite and welcoming, but we weren't offered the usual refreshment upon check-in which we normally get as ALL Accor members, although it was a hot day. The energy in the lobby felt "worn" - e.g. cleaning of doors and bathroom area in the lobby has been overlooked for quite a while,... it felt like it just didn't have that pristine energy it should have. The once magnificent Strelitzia's in the lobby looked neglected. The windows in the bar terrace area carried the marks of people's head resting against the window, the terrace itself looked dull, the little bit of greenery wasn't cared for - the oleanders suffering from neglect, the bar area inside was dark and unwelcoming; also not a bit lounge music throughout. the spa area was rather disappointing, e.g. there was no water hose, tap or bowl available in the hamman to rinse down the seating areas before (and after) use, it felt unhygienic and smelled unfresh (we did get sufficient warning from the staff about the very slippery floor), ... but our room was spaceous and lovely, but there was no vanity set available in the bathroom - little things perhaps but they add up. A thorough audit would maybe help to reset the 5 star level one should be able to anticipate of an Accor hotel.

La Licorne is a lovely hotel in a very central location, with beautiful and comfortable rooms. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional throughout our stay. The only disappointing point was the lack of amenities in the room. There were also only large bath towels provided, with no hand or face towels, which felt a little below what you would expect from a five-star hotel. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and particularly appreciated the excellent staff.

The staffs are nice, facilities are well presented. But there are two things should not happened. 1. There was half bottle of juice in room117 which I found out on the second day of my stay. 2. The hand cream is gone, I have opened the bottle but housekeeping did not see while tidy up the room
