Stayed at both Banyan Tree and Four Seasons Koh Samui in January 2026 with my partner. At half the price of Four Seasons, Banyan Tree is impressive. It's food was outstanding and better than FS. The room facilities were excellent with extra amenties like international chargers. Where it could improve would be communication. While they have a personal concierge service, unlike FS, who a day or so before introduce themselves for anything and everything via whats app, BT send a multi layered email with PDF brochure, a QR code that lead to frustraiton, and a whats app number but without clear instructions about what to use it for. They also didn't offer a personalised induction to everything about the resort on arrival. FS were great at this. Also, a lot of their information, like menus was via QR code which isn't great if you want a break from your phone or prefer paper format. However the facliities and food were hard to beat. At Banyan I organised my own private Muay Thai instructor to visit the hotel and at Four Seasons they had they're own. Both were good experiences, Banyan about a third less costly.

However, I regret to learn that you did not receive information about resort happenings and recommendations in a seamless manner. We strive to create tailored experiences for our guests and to connect with them to learn about their interests for their holiday and it is disappointing that we were not proactive in this regard to engage in conversation and discover more. While it does little to benefit you at this point, our Guest Services Centre is always just a push of button away and would have been glad to assist you in these matters or to advise one of our Villa Hosts to connect with you in person. Moreover, please note that we also offer private Muay Thai lessons from our team and can cater to your preference for an indoor or outdoor setting. It is unfortunate that you had to contact an outside instructor for this service and I hope we shall be able to provide this for you during a future visit. Stayed in thousands of hotels around the world, lots of them claim to be 5 stars however if you want to experience real 5 stars stay at Banyantree Samui There are many many ways I could recommend this hotel & the staff but in summary its the best hotel ive ever stayed in in more than 40 years of travelling Just go guys

A Wonderful Stay at the Banyan Tree Samui

My family spent the last few days of a 2 week trip to Thailand at the Banyan Tree Samui. We could not have asked for a better finale. The hotel, rooms, and staff were all excellent. Beyond the beautiful villas, the food was excellent and the head of F&B (Rainer) was everywhere to ensure we were well fed and to share a story or two. Tak, our room concierge, made sure we never needed anything and helped with all our needs across the property (and beyond). Finally, my wife and I participated in several yoga classes. The instructor (Bikram) is a great teacher and a lovely person. My family and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Banyan Tree.

Beautifully located private villa with a private beach

The villa we rented had was very well and smartly laid out with a sitting area, a bedroom and a bathroom all overlooking the infinity pool. There was a second room seperate for our daughter and in between a sitting area. The fantastic view was out to the sea and private beach. You are being transported with staff touring around with buggies as it is quite hilly. Although the rooms seem a little old, everything is in pristine shape and very well maintained. The resort offers a variety of places to eat, but we mostly staid at the beach place to eat. Food was ok with choice in both western as well as Asian. I wouldn't mind a bit more Asian choice, but ok. The staff is very attentive and pleasant whereever you go. They have a Spa with many options, as well as a gym. I found the gym a little small, it was a bit hard to be able to get on the treadmills as there were only 2. Also the equipment was a little limited. The breakfast was ok, there s a lot of choice. The beach is great, not to busy and nice beds, several paddel boards, canoes and 1 hobie cathamaran. Overall a great place to relax! We liked it.
