so rooms are as you are used to with them. It’s a nice hotel with direct beach access and no people walking along the beach so kinda private. I booked their largest room which is a suite. So no further upgrade possible as an Accor Gold but I would have wished a nicer location of the room. Not sure if their suites are all on ground level but the downside is that people are walking by and you need to have all curtains closed during dawn and night. Otherwise they see everything in your room. Some power outages happened but the generator kicked in always a few minutes later. Once it happened in the gym during a run and suddenly the machine then turned off. Luckily I was anyhow nearly at trainings end. But overall it’s still an Ibis so don’t expect a five star resort and I would stay here again. Side note: the pools are not of the size for swimming and doing laps. And the ocean isn’t suitable for open water swimming either as there are jellyfishes which burn you when in contact.

This was our second time staying at this Ibis hotel in Koh Samui, and we returned because we truly loved it from our first visit. This time, I came with my wife and our two kids, and we all enjoyed our three-night stay just as much as before. The room was clean, comfortable, and appeared to have been recently renovated, giving it a fresh and pleasant atmosphere. We had one of the best connecting rooms we’ve ever had in Thailand — spacious, well-arranged, and perfect for our family. The hotel also has a simple but nice swimming pool, where our kids spent hours every day having fun — definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The hotel is located right beside the beach, so our morning walks were fantastic — peaceful, breezy, and relaxing. The location isn’t right in the center of Koh Samui’s busiest area, but it’s still very convenient. There’s a 7-Eleven, petrol station, pharmacy, and even a McDonald’s nearby, so getting anything you need is easy. It’s quiet yet close enough to reach all the main attractions around the island. For those driving, there’s a good number of parking spaces available, which made things even more convenient. They also offer a morning buffet — the selection and taste were acceptable, but there’s room for improvement. We didn’t get the chance to try their dinner service this time, but maybe we’ll give it a try on our next visit. The only thing I must complain about, and something that should be addressed soon, is the poor Wi-Fi reception. During our entire stay, the hotel connection was unstable and weak. I ended up relying on my phone’s AIS data and hotspot, which provided a much better connection. Why I love this hotel so much is because, if you book at the right time, the room rates are very reasonable for what they offer. With its comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff, convenient location, and relaxing atmosphere, this hotel gives great value for families. We’ll definitely come back again on our next trip to Koh Samui — hopefully with better Wi-Fi next time!

An Ibis with a massive difference

The hotel represents great value for money. This is our second stay, this time for 10 nights. Yes, It is a 3 star. Staff and views are definitely 5 star. The room is perfect, our cleaner absolutely fantastic, breakfast excellent, evening meals absolutely superb and what a view, right on the beach. The canopy over the outdoor restaurant along side the beach is a marvellous addition, especially for the rain ! Special thanks to : - Khun Son and Khun Rose,Khun Jean and Khun Sor and Khun Lin waitress Khun tro and Khun Kim, waiter Khun sow, noodle chef Khun por, egg chef Khun Kaimook and Khun Pom reception A couple of small peeves (mainly due to other guests not reading the signs)- 1. The hotel allows dogs and I spent 6 days watching one taking its toilet right outside my balcony. The owners cleaned up after the dog but other guests were walking bearfoot over the grass -yuk 2. I’m not sure the adult / quiet pool works - it should either be enforced or the signs taken down. No one respects it. There were ball games / kids and babies/ diving/ lots of noise On our 8th night we went to eat at the beach restaurant which unfortunately was not really open as there was a private party! - we were a bit upset as it’s a Beautiful place to eat and the food is very good. Amazingly and magically a table appeared for us ! How wonderful is that ? 400 baht to do private transfer from airport, 400 baht for private transfer to Chaweng (or grab a bus and see if you can do a deal !), 200 baht for a taxi to Big C. We booked our transfer back to the airport with the hotel at 500 baht for a minibus. 711 just 5 mins up the road in one direction and small TOPS, 5 min in other direction. Hotel has a small gym and coin laundry. (Or take your laundry over the road, use the security guard to cross, he’s also excellent )
