I really loved the banyan tree mayakoba! I understand why people like it so much ! The arrival front desk is a bit difficult. They really try not to honor the all Accor benefits. Trying to take advantage of my all Accor platinum benefits was like a fight. I would rather Accor do away with their program if hotels are going to torture guests with all NO NO we don’t give benefits, unless you book direct , which I did….. anyway Just Annoying Once that was behind me. I loved the villa, gym , beach restaurant! The staff all over the resort is outstanding! The food was pretty good. Service again 10/10 everywhere. When I checked out the food bill was a real shocker ! Food is $$$. Get ready That’s just a real drag, not a deal breaker. The deal breaker for me was the Cancun airport. Total chaos. Complete mayhem. I’ve never seen an airport so crowded and out of control. Chaotic security. Yelling at everyone. Nasty Lines for the lounge or bathroom. Whomever runs CUN should be fired. I will never come back to mayakoba just because of the experience leaving CUN airport

We love banyan tree, amazing experience friendly staff, special mention to Roi who has been helpful, friendly and always a step a head of our needs, food was outstanding the weather not so good, can't wait to return.

While the property itself is beautiful, our stay in the Lagoon Pool Villa was deeply disappointing. For a luxury resort charging over $1,000 per night, certain standards are non-negotiable. Upon check-in, we found urine stains on the toilet seat, and on our second night, we discovered a cockroach right next to our bed. Most concerning was the management’s reaction. When we brought these health and hygiene issues to their attention, they seemed completely indifferent and offered no compensation for our poor experience. A beautiful view doesn't make up for a lack of basic cleanliness and dismissive service.
