Our suitcases were forced and we were robbed inside our rooms!!

We were supposed to stay 3 nights in this hotel. After our first night, my wife, 2 kids, and I went out in the morning and returned in the late evening. We then found our 4 suitcases have been forced and a couple of valuable items have been stolen inside. 2 suitcases have clearly been forced (see picture) and the other 2 were opened without a trace via the TSA lock. Overall security at this hotel is poor with no physical restriction to access the room floors and security cameras do not seem to cover all the common areas. The response from the hotel staff was the following: - From the 3 people I talked to, no one came to the rooms (we had 2 rooms) to see what happened. - Staff bounced me from one person to the next. After insisting the next morning, the assistant manager was called and the only thing she found to say was that I was disturbing her on her day off! When I met her the next day, she blamed the theft on the airline or airport staff. When she realized it made no sense (since the items robbed were in the carry on suitcase), she then basically called me a liar. - She refused to show me any evidence of who entered the room (key card log or security cameras) and basically said that she will not do anything until the police comes to investigate. She promised to talk to the manager and get back to me, but I never heard from them. We ended up checking out 1 day early since my wife and kids did not feel safe in this hotel. The hotel did not offer to refund anything from my prepaid rooms. I raised the issue to Accor who did nothing else but repeat what the hotel staff is saying. There doesn't seem to be any quality of service standard in this hotel group. Avoid this hotel, and avoid any Accor hotel (Ibis, Mercure, Novotel, Sofitel, etc...) for that matter since they seem to treat theft in their hotel rooms as something normal that does not warrant any action.

Dear Mr Malcourant, We receive this comment more than 9 months after your visit to Paris. We want to clarify some of the information you write about your comment. We followed the procedure and explained it to you, a statement to the police is essential. This is in the French law. We asked you for the oral procedure, it was never transmitted to us. We haven’t had a call from the police. We did not accuse the airline definitively, we talked about the other possibilities of this incident because we had no proof the same morning of the course of the incident. We also didn’t call you a liar, we explained that we needed investigations and evidence to understand the situation. We did not refuse any refund, we asked you for an invoice for the brand bag that you reported stolen. The purpose is to make an insurance declaration for your compensation. Invoice that you never sent us. You pointed fingers at one of our employees and made racist and defamatory comments about her. This is unacceptable to us. You apprehended our guests that morning to tell them to flee our hotel because we were thieves, this is also defamatory. We confirm once again that personal has in no way stolen from your room. Cleaned! Comfortable rooms and some of them with a big bathroom. Water and coffee (and marshmallow :-) ) at your disposal for free! At any time. Good breakfast (also for lactosio free needed) A nice little internal garden where staying on relax. Very nice the persons at the reception First of all Sophie

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. The staff are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. However the rooms are cramped and small with nothing in the room other than a bed and a TV. No wardrobes or indeed anywhere to put clothing. There is no bar or common room to sit at night except for a very small sofa in reception. They advertised 180 euros a night. We didn't pay that but this hotel is very expensive for so little facilities. However the bed was very comfortable, I found them quiet too and the staff make this place bearable...

located on the east side of the city, close to metro and other public transportation. it's on a big Avenue, full of traffic and noise. rooms are pretty small and not much clean, with hairs everywhere (on the bed, in the toilet, on the curtains). breakfast is ok. low level wrt other Ibis hotel in the world. not good the ratio quality/price...

The hotel is is recently renovated and the design of the hotel is cool and modern. Rooms are small, as is typical of Paris. Towards the periphery of the city, but well connected on Metro Line 1. The doors are locked at night and, as the buzzer was broken, required a lot of banging on the front door to get the attention of staff Breakfast was included and was adequate. Bread cheese coffee etc. The MAJOR downside is that the walls were paper thin. I could hear every word spoken in the next room, all through the night. This made it extremely difficult to sleep. (room 207. Other rooms may have some soundproofing, this had none.) I would not recommend that you stay based on this alone. I have never stayed in such a noisy room
