Not a five star hotel. The first day We came our room smelled drain , the next day we went to the reception and wanted to change room beacuse of the smell but the receptionist told us it was not possible . So We stayed at our room one week with that smell. Me and my family wanted to vomit because of the smell. We also had ants in our room. The stuff was really rude in the reception. It felt like they dident like their job or wanted to help. The food was good. The main resturants felt like a school canteen. It was caos!!!! They were under staff. The pool was good and the beach also. You need shoes for the beach beacause their is a LOT of stones. Rixy kids club was really good! All the staff their was wonderfull!

the worst hotel from the Rixos chain in Turkey, I have not been to all of them, but to Terkirova and Bodrum. I was very disappointed. I'll start with the good things. Rixy, the children's club, is really at the best level as well as the animators there. ala carte restaurants also super tasty and great service. Unfortunately, the rooms were old and damaged. In our room, the shower flooded the entire bathroom. the restaurant is always crowded and the staff pretends not to notice new guests arriving at the table. the food is also very basic. eggs and omelettes fried in very dirty and old pans. The waffle station worked twice for 11 days (two devices made 4 waffles for which you had to wait about 15 minutes). Bars always run out of something or something is missing. In my case, the nightmare was whole apple juice, that's all my 3-year-old daughter drinks. sometimes you had to look in all the bars. at 8:00 in the morning all the sunbeds are occupied and there are no people on them. the hotel was OK, but definitely not a five-star hotel.

I stayed with my family and friends from Azerbaijan at this hotel from June 29 to July 8. We came to this hotel thinking it would be a good place for families and children. As a result, both of my daughters, me and two members of other families fell ill. Despite our numerous complaints, the hotel did not respond. Using my medical insurance, I went to clinic where they told me it could only be food-drink-related. There was no response to these arguments; they only tried to resist. Such coincidences cannot occur with three families. We returned back sick and in a state of vomiting at Antalya Airport. We arrived healthy but left back sick. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, but if you do decide to go, bring your own insurance, otherwise they will demand triple the amount from you.

Exceptional ! The complex was immaculate, the food offering from snacks, buffet and a’la carte was superb. We had a family terrace suite which was fabulous, great space and in the main building, I have seen mixed reviews about these rooms being a little dated, I have to say they are of high quality and the beds are huge and very comfortable. The mini bars were filled daily, plenty of water provided and rooms cleaned well. The buffets, Veranda and Turquoise were busy at times, but we always found a table and there was plenty of variety. Personally, we preferred the a’la carte as less busy and quiet. The buffet down at the beach bar in the day was fab too ! The noodle bar and Croissant corner was a big hit too ! Bloom was fantastic .. the food and service was Michelin standard, highly recommended. Cactus, the Mexican was great too and a lovely location overlooking the sea. Teppanyaki was our favourite the chefs were entertaining and funny, also got the kids involved with the cooking, great experience! We loved a nice quiet drink at The Fantasy Bar at the end of each day, where we were very well looked after by the very hard working team, particularly Gizem and Mehmet, always smiling and remembered everyone’s drinks ! They worked very long days, a real credit to the hotel! The Rixy kids club is something else … like something out of a Willy Wonka movie… incredible workshops, outdoor activities their own activity pool and nightly carnival .. amazing. Overall I couldn’t recommend this resort enough. Plenty of space lots of sun beds, amazing pools and a lovely warm bay to swim in. Thank you to all for making this such a memorable holiday, and a special thank you to Nadia, Guest Relations Manager and your team for looking after us .

Our experience at Rixos Sungate was unfortunately marred by several significant issues, primarily with the staff. Their rudeness was so pronounced that it has dissuaded us not only from returning to this hotel but also from visiting Turkey again. While we understand that English may not be widely spoken among the staff, the lack of effort to communicate effectively was frustrating. When attempts were made, they were often abrupt and impolite. A particularly distressing incident occurred with a lifeguard while my 18-month-old son and I were in the pool. Throughout our entire two-week stay, he had his bottle in the pool as a comfort item. On the last day, a lifeguard approached us blowing her whistle, abruptly at my son who is 18 months and cannot understand people yet. I explained that taking it away would upset him and there was nothing in the bottle. Her response was to tell me we get out or he is banned. I refused to get out and swam to the other side of the pool with my son. I thought she might have got someone more senior to have a word with me but instead she glared at us for the remainder of the day showing her anger. This hotel is advertised as 5-star, and while the facilities are amazing—the kids club is probably the best I have ever seen, the gym is of high quality, and the availability of premium drinks on the all-inclusive package is impressive—I would rate this hotel 4 stars at best. The primary reason for this downgrade is the staff's behavior, which was mostly rude and unhelpful. At the buffet, it often took us 20 minutes to find a cleared table. No staff member offered to assist us in finding or cleaning a table; we had to ask someone who was usually too busy to help immediately. The same struggle occurred when trying to get a clean high chair for our son. Once seated, we faced another challenge: getting a waiter’s attention to order drinks. When we finally managed to order, the waiter would often walk away before we finished, requiring us to call them back to complete our order, including an apple juice for our son, which frequently never arrived. Refills were equally challenging to obtain, and despite tipping the staff (as we do at every hotel), it did not seem to improve the service. By the pool, getting drinks was similarly difficult. Another issue was the presence of rude guests who frequently pushed in lines at restaurants, bars, and snack bars, which added to the overall frustration. Additionally, we had to regularly contact reception to restock our minibar. Housekeeping also posed a problem. The cleaner always wanted to clean our room during our son's afternoon nap, appearing annoyed when she couldn't enter. I asked her to return after his nap, but she still almost woke him every day by knocking once, immediately opening the door, and turning on the lights. On a positive note, the rooms were spacious and comfortable with cozy beds. The food at the resort was decent but became monotonous by the end of the first week. Including all a la carte restaurants in the all-inclusive package could address this issue. Currently, only the Mexican and seafood restaurants are included, and only twice per week. Guests must pay extra for the other options, which is not something I've encountered at other hotels. We did pay for the Teppanyaki restaurant, which was a fantastic experience. Ronaldo, our chef, made it a highlight of our holiday with his exceptional skills and friendly demeanor. It felt like a private dining experience since we were the only ones who had paid the extra fee that night. We voiced our concerns to Ayhan at the concierge. He was professional and genuinely cared about our issues, frequently checking in with us. Thank you, Ayhan, for your excellent service. Overall, the combination of rude staff and poor service significantly detracted from our holiday experience at Rixos Sungate. We would not recommend this resort and will likely avoid visiting Turkey in the future based on this experience.
