PROS- 1. Excellent sea & mountain views. 2. Close proximity to beach with convenient lift. 3. Great service at the beach, especially I loved the fact that we could eat there and therefore we did not need to rush back for lunch and just relax etc. 4. Good selection of foods 5. Great reception/welcome when we first arrived making us feel 1st class but when leaving. We were saying good bys to the walls. Which didn't bother us but just to highlight the two extremes. CONS- 1. RIXOS-DOWNTOWN claims to be a 5 star hotel. Yet there is no AC in the hotel rooms. Even though you clearly state Air conditioning in your adverts. We loved being there in the day but the nights were awful. The rooms are like a green house during the day and at night they become unbearable. When I asked why the AC wasn't working. I was told there is no AC in any rooms and they only put it on during like heat waves. This is pathetic. Why do you claim you have AC. You're lying to your customers and I'm going to make sure I leave reviews on trustpilot! TripAdvisor and Google. I feel we were cheated. You have to remember that the majority of your customers come from North Western Europe. Britain, France, Germany, Russia. Yet you expect them to sleep in a sauna. Each day we really enjoyed it but at night we couldn't sleep. So everyday we woke up more tired than the day before by day 5 we just wanted to go home, as we were fed up from lack of sleep. If we could pay to have AC on. We would have paid but this is something that you should highlight in your stay prior to booking. Every morning I would go to the reception to speak to someone else just incase there was hope from one of them for putting the AC on but nothing. In the end they said they could give us a fan but when it's that hot, fans just blow warm air, so that didn't help. The hotel downstairs wasn't hot but the rooms were like a green house. 2. Inconsiderate cleaners. We bearly were getting much sleep because of no air conditioning. On top of this, the cleaner every morning would drag the table/beds or chairs when cleaning the next door rooms. As the rooms have a tiled area and this would disturb everyone. When we finally at some point had fallen asleep. We were disturbed by cleaners dragging furniture! We were more tired and grumpy by the day. Now something like this could have easily been rectified after I complained about this to reception but each and everyday was the same. This is something that falls upon the reception staff and management. All it takes is communication. The cleaner was a lovely lady but couldn't speak a word of English otherwise I would have politely asked her myself. 3. Food. Even though there was a good selection of food. It was literally the same food every day. There was only about 5 different items. The rest always the same. After 3 days we had enough of the same food everyday. Same desserts. Same starters. Same pasta. Same fatayer. Same lentil soup. Same rock hard breads. Turkey is known for meats. I would have liked to see more meats, like Chicken Shwarmas. Donner. Lamb Shwarmas. Adhana kebabs, kobeda kebabs. Yet we had none these. Chicken Shwarma they had only once. 4. SEATING IN RESTAURANT We always had a problem finding some where to sit. There's not enough tables and chairs and because of this we started going a bit later like 8:30pm even then we bearly found some where to sit and then on top of that the waiters would stand to us and hover around us making us feel uncomfortable. Like they wanted to get rid of us because I guess they wanted to clean and go home. But they didn't understand that we had just seated. We were not there from 6:45pm when it opened. 5. WAITERS Need to stop hovering round families and standing to us and let us eat in peace. On our last day. A waiter stood to us and we told him we were still eating. He comes back 5 minutes later and said to me "are you OK. We said yes. He just stood there watching us eat for like 5 minutes. Making us feel uncomfortable and we then just got up and left. Another time at lunch. I asked for 4 coca colas. As there was 4 of us. The lady served me and asked the waiter there to carry them to our table. The waiter asked where my table was and told her and then she got all aggressive with a loud tone to the one who served me and then she walked off. I told her do you want me to carry them. She said yes. I carried two glasses and then came back for the other two glasses. I was annoyed and reported it to the lovely lady who was stood there at the entrance of the restaurant. She asked me who it was. I pointed her out and she told me, she would pass it on to the manager. But I heard nothing about it after this nor any feed back or what came of it. 6. BARSTAFF The bar staff tend to be nice and welcoming at first. But when you go a second time they tend to be abrupt and rude. Like they have no patience. These bar staff need to realise that I'm not just getting something for myself. I'm there, like most people with our family and it's one person placing orders not just for herself/himself. We had two little children we were ordering for them too. Also the barstaff always seemed fed up. I don't know if they don't enjoy their job or were underpaid or what but most likely they are doing very long hours. But this in turn gives the customers a low quality experience. 7. SWIMMING POOL only one small heated pool and therefore always crowded and unpleasant to swim in. With no indoor pool and a medium pool outside that was freezing. Nobody was using it as expected. To cold to swim in. In order to improve the swimming experience. RIXOS must make the medium pool also a heated pool. This would reduce the over crowding and give people a pleasant swimming experience. Swimming is a vital part of a holiday. Rixos must pay attention to this. Also there was no sunbeds available. More sunbeds are needed. In the 5 days that we were there. Only once we managed to get a sunbed. 8. Very outdated rooms. More like a 2 star hotel rooms and on top of that no AC. Also all 4 of us were really itchy at night. We did notice pest control guy outside the room with the name/logo clearly written on his t-shirt ie "PEST" spraying something on the carpets. As we walked past. We started choking. What ever it was it just sat on my throat. That stuff would definitely not be legal in the UK or EU. I had a sore throat for a week after that. Would I go back? No I wouldn't unless 1. they actually provided AC which they advertise and we pay for thinking they have it but they don't provide it. Without proper sleep, how can you expect pehle to wake up energetic and motivated to enjoy. 2. Actually have real variation in foods and more seating. 3. And heat their medium pool. For one tiny pool is not enough. Which becomes overcrowded. There is also no outdoor changing rooms for the swimming pool. Until these changes are not made we won't be returning. Bearing in mind that it is more expensive than the surrounding hotels. Which I dont mind but don't false advertise. If you say rooms have AC I expect rooms to have AC. When your room is 31 degrees. Nobody is going to sleep. The hotel entrance & lobby is like 5 star. The rooms on the hand 2 stars. Where even the bathroom has grout that has been gone over with a grout colour pen. Silicone coming off some areas. Overall I would say it's a 3 star hotel. Losing one star for no Air conditioning and WiFi that bearly works. Losing another star for having no indoor pool and only a tiny part of the outdoor pool heated making it overcrowded and no outdoor changing rooms. Though a positive is that they do have changing rooms at the beach. I hope RIXOS DOWNTOWN fulfill the promise of air conditioning and heat the pool outside, not just that tiny corner. As it does have great potential and excellent views. Until then this is 3 star hotel. That needs to be honest with it's customers that come here.

We had a perfect holiday week. The view was magnificent, one of the pools was heated and the staff was friendly. Especially Rixy Kids Club was a great place with daytime activities and evening shows. My child didn't want to leave there. Rixy staff were very attentive, special thanks to Seyda and Sezen

The service was impeccable. Rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and service minded. We wholeheartedly recommend Rixos Downtown to all our friends and family. Amazing place for family vacation with beautiful views

We are just leaving the Rixos Downtown Antalya and we had a great experience and look forward to returning again! The friendliest of the staff was of the highest calibre and we are cannot praise them highly enough. Everyone works with such enthusiasm, professionalism and it is a pleasure to have stayed at this hotel. I would like to particularly thank the young lady with the purple coloured hair who is working between the a La Carte and Tropical Bar who was really pleasant and friendly, very professional and had a lovely smile and i hope you can pass on my gratitude to her, I didn’t catch her name or get the chance to thank her because she was busy but please pass my gratitude onto her, I would really appreciate it! We look forward to seeing you again!

Fantastic hotel, just needs tweaking

Had a fantastic week with my family we took three rooms, mine was overlooking the mountains, sea, hotel pool and was fantastic. The other two rooms were also stunning, only down side were they were to hot during the night with the air con not working properly and to be fair we didn't mention it to reception, food was delicious every evening and breakfasts fantastic with loads of choice, drinks package, catered for everyone, the front of house desk needs to inprove thou, we had a alacart, dinner one evening which turned into a farce, seven of us in total, gave orders, when mains arrived only six were served and were stone cold, seventh arrived 15 minutes later again cold, best advise server could offer was to have them reheated, which for us was a no no , mentioned at front reception next morning and they couldn't understand why we were complaining? Eventually a manager who got why we were complaining and arranged for us to expierence the rixos alacart the following evening, we arrived and had to move the tables so we could sit together, the food was served, again one of our guests almost had her meal poured over her, which the waiter didnt react, he could have apologised, and changed the table cloth, anyway another poor impression of fine dining, didn't even bother mentioning to front of house ad they seemed un interested on our first fine dining expierence, Also, two of us playing in the huge swimming pool on our own, hardly anyone used it, as it was so cold, the lifeguard asked us to stop playing pass with a soft ball, even with the pool been empty , fun police I fear,the highlight thou is the beach bar, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic staff, tried land of legends, loved it roller-coasters, we swam with dolphins, the braver ones went in with the sharks, fabulous place, loved it, finally apart from one or two hicups, would definitely recommend this hotel and area, we had the best time, but could have been better
